COZUMEL: Tulum ruins VS San Gervasio ruins

Tulum is post card worthy beautiful. But we visited when we were on a land vacation to Rivera Maya. If I were visiting on a cruise I would not travel that far. Don't get me wrong, its gorgeous, but that is a long trip.

Thanks for the replies. It just DH and I on this cruise. We are pretty much go with the flow kind of people and food won't be an issue for us.

Loved reading this!! thanks for the compare. We will be in Cozumel in Feb 2016. I've done Cozumel on a previous cruise in 2013 and we did ATVs through the jungle (amazing). This trip we are going to begin 'family planning' in the November time frame, so i very well may be pregnant in Feb. I think we will go with San Gervasio since there is no long boat ride that may not be comfortable. I also enjoy trying to find local food at ports, so a shorter excursion seems like a good idea for us.

If you are in early pregnancy it is not very comfortable on the ferry. When we took a land vacation to Rivera Maya, we took an excursion from the mainland to Cozumel (which was ill advised in hind sight because we have been there 4 times on cruises since then). I had just found out I was pregnant, so I was about 6-7 weeks along and just starting to get sick and queasy all the time. The ferry ride was not very fun.
