Any thoughts on Disney's Cozumel snorkel excursions? Can anyone comment on the Fury Catamaran Sail, Snorkel & Beach Party or the Chankanaab Sea Lion Discovery and Snorkel Tour? As I asked in another post with respect to Grand Cayman, are we foolishly limiting ourselves by sticking with Disney excursions? What if we book and pay for an excursion on our own and the ship does not dock in Cozumel?

you can very easily do Chanakaab on your own. Cab one way is around ten bucks. To enter the park it is ten bucks per person over the age of ten, and under that age is free. Cabs are lined up so it is easy to catch a ride back to the ship.

Fury Catameran was great! Good hosts, clean boat and beach. Long enough, but not too long of trip. I think this excursion is the best value of any on the western route. I would like to do Fury again when we crusie in March, but we want to explore the island this time, and we have to try the Mini-golf.

ebseckar: Another alternative is to take a taxi to Dzul Ha. There's no cover charge and the snorkelling is better than at Chankanaab. They have a restaurant, palapas for shade, lounge chairs and a couple of hammocks. Since there's no cover charge, you'll be expected to at least purchase drinks there.

Equipment rental is $8 for the snorkel, mask and fins and $4 for an inflatable vest. There are cement steps into the water for fairly easy entry and exit.

Chankanaab has much more to offer, but you pay for it with the $10 entry fee per person.

I don't know if this makes your decision easier or more difficult!

Bruce: we'll see you in March!
