Cozumel ?s

If you don't get an answer on this board, a good board to post specific port questions is at www.cruisecritic.com. Go to Boards, then select the Ports of Call board. I have not checked out the Cozumel Board yet, but found some good info on the Key West board.

at the pier, when you get off the ship, you can get three bottles of brand name liquors (jose, tanqueray, kahlua, and so on) for $25. On Carnival the prices were anywhere from 13.50 to 14.50 a bottle. Of course, it was too late for me to take advantage of that good price because i had purchased my booze on ship. Disney booze prices are comparable to Carnival booze prices. Wait until you come back from your excursions to purchase booze so you won't have to lug it with you.

Thanks for the link for Cruise Critic....I feel like I hit the jackpot with all that information!!

Cruising May 25, 2002.......Can't wait!!

Really? Does Disney sell liquor in a shop on board? I'm assuming this means you could purchase and consume, or is this just to purchase to take home?

i have been on a few cruises now, and i always buy booze of the ship. The first couple of times i didn't, but after seeing the bargains available off ship, well...

I know on carnival if you purchase on the ship, you won't get your booze until it is delivered to your stateroom on the last night of the cruise.

disney does sell booze, but since i never bought any on that cruise i am not sure what their policy is.

I know the reason carnvial doesn't let you take it to your room, is they want you to spend money at the bars.

Maybe someone else can tell us what the disney policy is for purchasing booze on board.

I don't know about liquor purchased on board.....but we bought liquor on St. Maarten this past February and were able to bring it back to our room to consume. We bought some rum and coke and the rest is history!!!! The rum prices were much cheaper on St.M than on the ship. The price we paid was only $4.95 per bottle for rum and Stoly vodka.

Liquor in St Maarten was so cheap- I guess Cozumel won't be as cheap as that.

As for buying liquor on board- you can but it is not delivered to your stateroom until the lat evening. It can't be opened.

Mexico just passed some additional taxes on liquor which has supposedly raised prices to near what they are stateside (at least here in Texas). Don't know how it will affect Cozumel. The news I read was discussing the effect on those of us who've crossed the border from time to time to restock.
