Cozumel questions

Any recommendations on liquor stores or other places to buy beer near port in Cozumel to take back on ship?
Also has anyone done a jeep /driving tour and can tell me what the speed limits and road conditions are like? We’ve booked jeep tour and trying to decide who should drive

As the pp said, the Mega is where it's at. Very cool store with lots of selection.
Or you could try the smaller corner stores called OXXO or KIOSKO... both of these are everywhere... or a 7-11.. there's one right across from the ship... they have a good selection of cold beer but for wine or liquor your best bet is Mega, a 10 minute walk from the port.

But if you're going to drive, try the Chedraui store... it's a 10 minute drive from the port... about the same size as Mega but way cheaper.. is where the locals shop for groceries.

I've driven in Cozumel (regular car, not a jeep) and there's one main road/highway which is like a ring road that runs thru the developed part of the island (up until the Melia hotel in the northern part) .. that main road is in pretty good condition and speeds I'd say are around 40-45mph around the commercial area, maybe 50-60 once beyond that. if you venture inland thru the neighborhoods away from that ring road, the streets are still ok...some potholes and unpaved areas but still very much drivable.

Cozumel is fun and safe, although small.. imo the safest port in Mexico.
