We've booked a dolphin encounter at Chankaanab and our program starts at 11 am, lasts for an hour. I know we could hang out there but I was also looking at Paradise Beach and I think the kids would have a great time there too. Is it close to Chankaanab and feasible to do both in the same day? For some reason I cannot find the port times when I check my ressies online. What time does the Magic leave Cozumel?

Off the top of my head I don't remember what time the ship leaves Cozumel, but I can tell you that we went to Chankanaab and did the 11am dolphin encounter, then spent the rest of the day there on the beach and had a FANTASTIC and relaxing day. It was wonderful, and definitely worth staying there for the day!

I so agree! Chankanaab is fantastic and I would choose to spend the entire day there even if I wasn't swimming with the dolphins! Save Paradise Beach for your next cruise;)

We are sceduled to leave Cozumel at 4:45.

^Thanks! I think we may save Paradise Beach then. We'll aim to be back to the ship no later than 4 so it might be too stressful to get over to PB for only a couple of hours.

I know what you mean. We are going to Xcaret. I went in August and can't wait to go back. It's gorgeous and there is so much to do that you can't see everything in one visit. I wish we were there until 7:30 (like Key West). Unfortunately, Key West is pretty boring by comparison.

We are in Key West that late?! I didn't know. ITA that I'd rather stay later on almost any of the other islands!

I was going to do Xcart and really wanted to but I just don't think it would be easy to do with a 2 year old. We'll save that one for a future cruise too! :rotfl:

I wouldn't do Xcaret with a 2yr.old. Too much gear to schlep. My son is 11yrs. old and it was perfect for his age. This time, it's just me and DH:cool1:
The minutes are ticking by sooo slowly:rolleyes:

I am glad to know I made the right decision then! We had it booked and I cancelled and booked at Chankanaab instead. :thumbsup2

I was at Chankanaab last week and it was fantastic! While I didn't actually do a dolphin encounter I saw where it was and what was going on and it looked great! They also have snorkeling available at the park, the facilities were good and the chips/pico were really good.:thumbsup2 The servers on the beach were very nice and very attentive while we were there. Saw some really cool fish while snorkeling. I can't wait to go back there some day.

I'm seeing conflicting info on the web right now about Chankanaab. Are there restrictions on the type of sunscreen you are allowed to use while there? thanks!

It says there are restrictions on sunblock and I went crazy finding biodegradeable kind before we left to go on our cruise....they never even checked! We put ours on before we left the ship and then reapplied it after 3 hours at Chankanaab!

Yep. Same here. No one asked about it at all.

Thanks a lot. Two of my kids have eczema and very sensitive skin and I was wondering if we'd be able to find what was required and have it be ok for them too..
