Cozumel excursion question

I orginally wasn't planning on doing any disney excursions at Cozumel but now I am second quessing myself. What do you think? Has anyone arranged their own transportation to Cozumel Beach or the National Park Chankannub? (I might have misspelt that) I have a family of 4 kids ages 3-10.

Hi Cherie! We did Chakanaab on our own last October and the kids (6 & 10) absolutely loved it! It was very easy to jump in a cab for about $10 each way if memory serves me right. The taxi ride there is not very pretty but the park is beautiful and has AWESOME snorkeling. The water is gorgeous and so clear; I have never seen so many fish. There's a shallow lagoon which is great for younger kids. Snorkeling equipment is very reasonably priced and there's a great bar & restaurant right on the beach area. It was one of our favorite things on the whole cruise. Also, there are cabs waiting to take you back whenever you're ready.

I ditto the previous response. Chankanaab is very easy to do on your own by taxi. I would recommend getting off the ship quickly and catching your cab ASAP. That way you will beat the shore excursion crowds and you should be able to sit under a nice little cabana umbrella.
