Coworker has issues

I got burned by my liar coworker. I thought he was annoying but harmless until he lied to the boss about me to keep himself out of trouble. Long story short, I snapped at him and yelled a curse word. Another coworker tattled to the boss that he was being a jerk and egging people on about a topic he continually abused (but she didn't mention me.) When confronted by the boss, he started chirping like a baby bird, telling the boss I attacked him repeatedly, punching and screaming curse words, showed her a bruise I supposedly gave him, etc. The boss called me in and SCREAMED at me, told me I was a horrible person, set up a meeting with the HR director and asked me if I wanted union representation. I was terrified I was going to get fired. I finally convinced the boss I never attacked or hit him (I'm a good foot shorter, female and have never been in a physical fight in my life!) After talking to several coworkers who witnessed what happened, she believed me and everything sort of got swept under the rug. To this day, crazy coworker completely believes I beat the crap out of him. Whatever.

Well then for all those following...

Jesse got served some papers yesterday, and this morning flew out to CA, leaving the kids in Fl..HAHA...This was AFTER the story where her DH burnt dinner, so her ENTIRE household ended up at 7-11 and got dinner there instead...Jesse at hot dogs...

OH MY!!

I will have to tell you the story about how she is friends with Forrest Whitaker next time...

LOL! Yea, right, Jesse ate at 7/11...ok than...:rolleyes1

Ohmigosh, I had a neighbor like this! She was really fun and a supportive friend, but the lies...

What weirded me out the most was when she would lie to me about things we did together. Like, "Hey, remember the day we went to the mall to buy the kids bathing suits and we saw that robber?" Often we were the only two involved in the conversation, so it isn't like she was trying to impress a third person. If I asked her, "What ARE you talking about? That never happened!" she would insist and try to remind me of different details.

She was so insistent sometimes that I questioned my own memories!

I've known people like that. I just think it is so sad that they don't think that they are interesting enough to talk about their real lives. It can become a real problem if it escalates.

I know you have to smirk it off just to cope on an every day basis, but just watch out for a serious problem. It's horribly sad.

I have worked with her for about 5 days so far(she was out 2 of the days was there) and I have heard a LOT...everything from her middle school aged child is SO SMART she has tested out of HS and is taking college classes 2x a week...yet still going to middle school...to she shot guns in Mexico with Kidd Rock and Jesse James...:confused3 I will add more of the stories soon..I believe it needs its own post...seems to have a DIS following..you can all look forward to that one..

I forgot to add one last tidbit b4 bed....She told me today her motorcycle was designed by.......you guessed it Jesse himself....:rolleyes1

Oh man! Sounds like a "One Upper" to me.

A co-worker and I were talking about our kids and some how we brought the conversation around to being pregnant and going to the Drs for checkups. I mentioned something about how by the end of my pregnancy I could care less about keeping my legs shaved and that the Nurse at the office made a joke about them not caring. Well she launched into this story about how what had happened to her when she went to the Drs for a checkup and had washed herself up with a washcloth that had contained her daughter's glitter and gave the Dr a big surprise. It was then I realized she was telling me that internet joke that I had read a couple of years ago. Since then I don't believe much of what she says.

Today was a quiet day with her...no fancy stories..HAHA...but I am working OT an extra 2 hrs with her...so who knows what will happen!

So now what do I do...I cannot believe ANYTHING that comes out of her mouth, and she believes everything she says...what should I do?
Practice, "Oh, I don't think you should be telling me that. My friend's a gossip columnist".

It sounds like some of you guys work with some people with real issues. Do they start every story with "and this one time".

I am not shy about calling out someone on their bull so I would just say something like "please get some professional help because your sound like a wack job with no concept of reality".
