Has anyone heard if/when this will be functioning? Everything I read states they expected it to be open but the end of December. But I can't anything more than that announcement.
The airports website has the following at the bottom of the press release page announcing the testing option:
For more information contact Carolyn Fennell or Larry Ell in the Office of Public Affairs at the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority at 407-825-2055.
The release says about $100 for the antigen test, and $200 for the pcr test.
That seems crazy. The local airport here in Maine does testing for free. Most pharmacies around here also will do testing for free. It seems completely absurd that they would charge $100-200.
Most people would say "whatever, doesnt effect me". But what if florida decided that everyone needed to get the $100-$200 airport test... at the airport. Can't test out, can't bypass. At that point, I would think it was more about a cash grab then safety

Florida is a conservative tourism state and as such it isn't going to put that kind of requirement on travelers. Their governor has made that clear. The airport testing center is a courtesy to those fliers going to more restrictive states.
