I'm beginning to worry seeing how very easy it is to test positive for covid! My son just tested positive in Ontario, was supposed to fly home to Alberta Jan 7, but tested positive Jan 5 after being told he may have been exposed.... YEP it came back positive! He had to stay an additional 10 days in Toronto and just got back home last week. So.... if this happens with 4 of us trying to fly to the USA for our trip, in October, we are going to be out a lot of money (around 30K) because travel insurance sees Covid as a known event and not something you can cancel over! I am so worried one of us could test positive, and we need to fly to the USA as we live in AB and can't drive. Also we have a cruise we are booked to board Oct 9. We fly Oct 5, spend 3 days (6-9) in WDW, then head to Port Canaveral to cruise. What's the safest way do you think to avoid possible positives and not being fit to fly?? I am beginning to wonder if we should all test 2 weeks before we are supposed to fly. If any of us is positive at least we have time to isolate then get notes if need be?? The USA requires a rapid antigen test I think 48 hours?? before flying, so would then need to take another test I think, hopefully we can all be negative. I will be devastated if this trip gets ruined over test results! it's 3 years in the rescheduling!
What is the best way to go about this to ensure we can all get on that plane on October 5??
