What changes do you all think will happen at the Disney Parks given how crippling this virus is?

We are in the process of seriously looking at our first DVC membership but it would be good to get opinions on what people think will happen with the parks. I appreciate this is very much a crystal ball exercise but just trying to take everything into consideration before purchasing...

I wouldn’t let it factor into your decision. This is a long term purchase, do you plan to travel to Disney or whichever resort you choose frequently? Do you plan to make use of it for years to come? Would you go without the parks? Look at those things. We have shifted where we want to buy a little to resorts we love vs proximity to parks in case we don’t do parks for a few years

I'm not sure we would go without the parks because of how far we would have to travel (UK). If they are just closed for a short period then yes definitely we will still go and just use the hotel, but it is a long way and significant cost on flights just for a hotel in the sun. We can easily do that in Europe.

I would hold off on a DVC purchase right now, prices on the resale market should be dropping in the upcoming months. With your circumstances with traveling I would not plan on going to WDW this year.

Thanks, we were originally targeting April next year but that was before we started thinking about DVC. If we get a June UY which is our aim, we would probably only get 2021 points so that we dont risk losing the others, and go in August. Or wait even longer and go in 2022.

JMHO -- but, I agree with the PP. Right now things are just too unknown in relationship to the virus. I see a lot of people saying that once a vaccine is invented, things will go back to normal. I'm under the belief that a vaccine that "cures" the Coronavirus will never be invented (I hope I'm wrong).

Let the dust settle and see how this all plays out. Better prices for contracts may be available in the fall or closer to January when MFs are due.
