Cove coffee card may no longer carry over

Thats not a good thing.....I hate when things change... makes no sense to me at all

I can't imagine they needed to make a formal announcement for this. They'll stop you from bringing back the beer token next, then the popcorn buckets, finally the drink of the day glass.

Change is just part of life and I understand that things will and do change. But a fairly cheap little perk like this is truly silly.

I did not know you could bring back "drink of the day glass". How much would that save a person per future drink?

Thanks,
Kate

You essentially get the refill price with the cup quantity. Similar to the beer token.

Oh this sucks :(
I didn't know about the card until halfway through our cruise last Oct - and said to the Cove Cafe CM that there is no way I can fill the card this cruise (only 2 away though) - to which he replied it doesn't expire and I can bring it back...
Should let DCL know :mic:
It's not that a free coffee is that big of a deal but they are being silly.
What's next..can't bring our beer mugs back???:sad2:

My barista (Dream) gave me a card our last morning to carry over for next cruise. This was last Friday.

Just an update to this one, we just got off the Magic last week, they accepted our full Cove card from our previous sailing, but told us going forward that there would be no carry over from cruise to cruise. The punch card is per cruise only and the new card states this on it.

This is baloney. Not everyone drinks a cup of coffee a day. Even if you did, you couldn't use it on a 3-5 night.

I asked on the Fantasy 2 weeks ago (that long already?) and they said I could use a stamp card over multiple cruises. I wonder if it's ship specific or if it's that some CMs are saying one thing and some another?

We were on the Magic (Feb 17th sailing) and we found out about the change when we ordered our drinks. I had 4 full cards from previous cruises and the CM accepted one but said going forward, they are only using the new cards.

This sounds likes it's maybe a ship-specific thing? Which is just ridiculous! DH and I usually split a card with my mom on the cruise (we've always done 7-day sailings) and we still just barely get it filled between the 3 of us! I have to contact DCL tomorrow (too late to call tonight) and would be happy to ask what the deal is, although we know how reliable the info given out can be o_O

I've found using the "contact us" on the DCL website often produces more correct information.

Starbucks should build a ship and visit all the countries that provide them coffee. That would be one hyper crowd...awake until 4am, then up again at 5am for the first brew. Shuffleboard would be frantic, Hacienda La Esmeralda ($350/lb) only in their high-end restaurant and loads of bathrooms. Imagine the possibilities and sign us up.
