I know there is a cover charge and I'm fine with it. I'm short, my kids are short, standing in a crowd seems like an incredible waste of time. As for the limited view, if the person ahead of me is over 5'3 I'm going to have an incredibly limited view. If I'm going to have a limited view I'd rather have a seat and a martini to make up for it. :rotfl:

Anyways 2 questions:

1)Would they let us bring in something from outside for the kids to snack on since there is nothing on their menu they'd eat? They will happily have some drinks though.

2) How early do we have to get there to get a decent seat to watch from? And can we make reservations?

I believe a few of the members here have done Cove Bar during WOC.

I'm really not entirely sure on the policy of children once it gets to be later at night. Maybe someone can chime in on whether or not they are allowed at night?

While we wait for someone else to pipe in with the answer to that, I want to make sure you're VERY clear that from the Cove Bar, you won't be able to really "watch" the show. You'll hear the music and see some of the lighting affects, but you won't be able to see the projections as they were intended, which is a majority of the show.

Thanks for the warning, butI'm okay with that :). Honestly the alternative is to not see it at all. We wouldn't bother if we had to do the standing thing because the kids won't be able to see and I probably won't either. This is coming from somebody that has gone 7 times now and has never seen Fantasmic! either. I do want to do the desert seating at some point though.

I sure hope they let kids in late at night though :)

Hmm, okay. I mean, I guess hearing it is better than nothing, but I really have to say if you aren't planning on watching it from the viewing area, then I almost wouldn't bother at all.

I used this analogy on here before when someone asked about "viewing" the show from somewhere other than the viewing area... it's like going to the movies, but sitting outside of the theater and just pushing your ear up against the door to hear the words. It's not the same as seeing the movie, and surely your review of the show isn't going to be as good as someone that actually saw it the way you're supposed to.

I've seen WOC at least 7 or 8 times and while I agree that it's totally a hassle to wait in line for a good spot, the show is AMAZING... but only if you see it from the viewing area. If not, you're just getting a cut-rate version... probably 10%-20% of the real deal.

Worst case scenario I get to enjoy a martini & late dinner of lobster nachos overlooking the lagoon with a relitively small fee attatched. I'd be fine with that on it's own :)

Sounds good :) Just wanted to make sure you had realistic expectations. You'd be surprised how many people come to these boards complaining about how much of a "let down" WOC is, only to find out that they watched from somewhere other than the viewing area.

totally understand :) Of course it's going to be a terribad view, you gotta think for fantasmic they charge $70 pp for the good view; this is $10. You get what you pay for!! And I'm okay with getting the bad view version for that price.

I think this is brilliant. I've seen the WOC show before so I know what the projection is like. But just to see the lights, and the water dance, and hear the music all for an extra $10 rather then waiting for a fast pass that might give me a bad spot anyway, I am at least guaranteed a chair, snack, a bar and the same show. How many bars can you go to where you get all that?

I'd suggest you watch from under the Symphony Swings. Great view (projections are backwards/hard to see, but overall not bad). And it's free and rarely crowded. I've watched it completely alone on some nights.

I have watched WOC from the Cove Bar, but I had already seen the show several times from the viewing area. Just to be clear, watching from the Cove Bar is an extreme angle and you won't see everything. The cover charge is $10 pp, and they might charge for the kids too. I am not sure about the kids and the rules for the bar.

Here are some pictures showing the angle:

We have done this with a couple of nine year olds. You need to get there early at least an hour or more. Add the cost of drinks for an hour at least before the show starts. Really cannot hold a table without eating and drinking. It is $10 pp including kids. You can order nachos and sliders with out the sauce for the kids. They have great hot coco for the late evening.

The view was fine for us we have a kid with aspergers and the line, close quarters and noise is to much for her. If they got bored one of us would walk them to the near by stores. She did great at the Cove Bar.

I'd expect you would definitely have to get there an hour or so before the show. That makes sense. That's ok by me too cause lots of people wait a good length o time by standing to see the show and at times their view is obstructed. I'm tempted to try this Cove Bar / WOC business.

Are glowtinis new? I don't remember them.

You can always wait for the WOC viewing area, and when everyone runs to the first two platforms in the front, go to the very front of the third one, next to the railing, throw a small blanket down for the kiddies to sit on, and maybe play a couple games? You will have an unobstructed view, see everything the way it was meant to be seen, and not get wet.

Glowtinis are awesome! You get to keep the light up "ice" too. :) I have 2 or 3 of them, they are so fun to put in a glass of wine. lol :)

Not new, and there are more than 1 drink that will glow.

Another idea to toss out there, watch it from the back, you won't see the projections right but you can see it pretty well from the back. We've done that a couple of times and enjoyed it.

Otherwise, if you do the CB just get some lobster nachos or the chicken pizza, have a couple of drinks and enjoy. My kids have always been welcome there, we sit at a table not at the bar (no kids at the bar), they get soda, we get drinks. I haven't done this for WoC, just during the day, but it seems it would work exactly the same way.
