Cove Adults only Area

When I had just turned 18 and was in the adult area, I was asked a few times how old I was. Some CMs checked my card, some took me at my word (probably because I was just tanning in a chair). I never once felt bothered by the inquiries - they were always polite, respectful and doing their part to keep the adults area special.

I also went on a few sailings where I was never asked once, so you just never know what you are going to get! Either way, it is never a bad experience! I even aged out of the teen club on one cruise, so I was able to enjoy both areas on the same sailing. First half in the teen club, second in the adult areas. That was definitely a fun one where I had to explain I was actually 18 now, even though I had a Vibe KTTW card

There are 3 letter codes that could be on your card. "A" is for adult, "M" is for minor and "B" is, well, maybe for between? Regardless, B is what is on the 18-20 cards.

I agree with the previous poster, if they aren't obviously 12 (or acting that way), I don't care. I **DO** care when people let their 4 or 6 year old run screaming through the adult area "just to get to the stairs" or something. That's just inconsiderate.

But honestly, I'd rather see them boot some of the "adults" from the area (maybe who've had a bit much to drink...) than some of the "kids." (my personal opinion)

My oldest son had the opposite problem - he's always been mistaken for much older than he is. On Castaway Cay, adults are told to take their photo ID and their KTTW card. The Bahamian authorities on the island check both prior to letting guests back on the ship. My son was 16 or 17 and was stopped and questioned because as a minor, he only had his KTTW card with him. Luckily, the one of authorities was very familiar with the cards and saw the M on it. He asked my son his age and laughed. Said he looked much older.
