I will be staying at the French Quarter of the Port Orleans in early June. Since there were no more water views left, we had to take a standard view, which doesn't seem to bad, as long as we aren't facing a parking lot. My question is, do the courtyard areas get busy and loud? Is it the central meeting place for large touring groups? Thank you!

We've never noticed groups congregating in the courtyards at POFQ. Other than the pool area, the garden areas usually seem pretty quiet.

Because there are no balconies at the moderates we never found the view to be important. All of the rooms open onto a walkway regardless of the view. It is not like you are going to be able to open the window coverings and enjoy the view because there are people walking by that will have a clear view into your room. At the moderates what we find to be the most important is location to the foodcourt and bus stop(s) then the view.

I have stayed at several WDW resorts including POFQ with a courtyard view and can honestly say I only heard noise once and it was a little girl excitedly laughing early one morning. The layouts are so well designed that unless you are facing the pool and very close, noise is definitely not a problem.

I agree that the courtyards tend to be very quiet. We've stayed at POFQ a few times, and we usually just see small families walking to and from their rooms when we're outside. People don't really take advantage of the beautiful courtyards.

Unless the resident bunnies, frogs and other wildlife have taken to making a lot of noise, the courtyard views are very quiet. The pool view is about the noisiest. We had a waterview at POFQ and wished we had gotten the non-water view. It wasn't worth the extra cost.
