Courtyard Lake Buena Vista- Palm Pkwy

How were you able to obtain a $42 per night rate?

I'm currently debating between Grosvenor for $59 or the Courtyard for $79 (including the breakfast buffet). I've stayed at the Courtyard many times, including when it was a HoJo's. I've stayed at all but two DT Disney hotels and wanted to try the Grosvenor, but haven't read too many good reports on it. I currently hold reservations at both properties, but need to make a decision soon.

Hi, depends on dates you want to go for the rate. For our dates in Aug only suites are available now at about $80.
I did see a week in July at £28/night ($50) but for some reason if you are in US the rate is $58 If you are in UK you can get the cheaper rate.
When I booked in Jan I got it at $42.
Check your dates at www.baholidays.com it might be lower rate.
These rates do not include breakfast
If you have a relative in UK maybe there is a way of booking with their address to book in £UK for lower rates.
Let us know if you get a good rate.
Good Luck

TTT103--the Courtyard that is being referred to here is not the one that used to be on Hotel Plaza Blvd. This Couryard is located off the main road (535) that runs north of that property.
Also, have stayed at the Grosvenor once. As long as you request a tower room I think you will be fine. Ours was clean, just a little worn and only had double beds.(We prefer Queen sized) I have however, heard some horror stories about some of the other non-tower rooms.

Wayne and Donna: Thanks for the information. I do have the correct Courtyard, but you had me a bit nervous for a moment. The Courtyard on Hotel Plaza was a HoJo's, then a Courtyard, and now a closed Holiday Inn (due to hurricane damage). The Courtyard Palm Parkway was also a HoJo's when it was first constructed and then converted to a Courtyard.

Although I wanted to try the Grosvenor's, most of the reviews were not favorable so I took your advice and called the hotel to see if I could upgrade to a tower room. Unfortunately, they would not budge unless I wanted to pay $129 a night. For that amount I would go to a mid-tier Disney property.

As such, I checked out baholidays and landed a $58.78 rate, including tax. That was the winning ticket so I cancelled Grosvenor's. I would prefer to drive anyway rather than use the hotel shuttles.

Thank you again for your insight.

wayneg, it asks for flight details, if i book flights with Virgin from Gatwick will i be able to enter them and still book hotels and car hire on Ba site as car hire is cheaper on it as well

I have stayed at the Palm Parkway Courtyard. It was fine and I would stay there again!

I find Car hire is very expensive on BA site. Our next trip is for 25 nights 2dr full size car Platinum cover (Full tank, any driver etc) with airnet.co.uk it cost me £510.00. Same size car with BA £655. Another problem I would have with BA is they use Alamo. Only used them once and they had no car for us, had to get taxi to resort and back to Alamo next day when they could get us 1.
Thankfully never had problem with Airnet who use Dollar.
I am not sure with Flight details. If I remember rightly when I booked I did not have to fill details in for flights, maybe they have changed it. :confused3

Most reports I have heard have been good, We go in less than 2 weeks so will see for ourselves, If we like it I will be booking again for next year. Rate for next summer is £28/night.

thanks wayneg ,checked their conditions of sale and you do not need flight details, just booked flights for next year so noww need to decide where to stay.

DH and I stayed at the Howard Johnson's Park Square Inn on Palm Parkway on our honeymoon in 1992. Is the Courtyard LBV on the same spot?

We are having a very Disney 15th anniversary and may be staying off property for our nights going in and coming out of the parks. The Ho Jo's wasn't that impressive in '92 so I'm definitely not looking for the same decor.

CbyMLBV is about 100 yards up Palm parkway on the lefthand side.
Got back on Tuesday after staying here for 25 nights. We don't want to stay anywhere else now. It has everything we need in a hotel, Very central to all theme parks, good decor, Coffee maker, very comfy beds and pillows, Free wireless internet in room for both our laptops and safe. Only 1 thing they could improve on for us would be a fridge but ice machine was only 10 yards away. Looking to book again for Xmas and Easter but cant get anywhere near the $42incl we paid this time.
