Courtesy call from VA

I just received a courtesy call from VA, checking that we had received our e-Tickets, had got valid ESTAs, were aware of our baggage allowance etc.

The lovely lady then kindly offered to check if there were any last-minute upgrades available on our outbound flight, LHR to MIA. She checked and there were upgrades to PE available - for £264 per person for the outbound flight only

She then offered to check if I could use my flying club miles towards and upgrade, which she did and confirmed that we could upgrade to PE for 2750 miles PLUS £249.63 per person

Needless to say, we are still very much in Economy

That lovely lady must hate having to do that, knowing that it was unlikely anybody would fall for handing over all those points and £500 + for one way!!!
