I stumbled onto this "perk" by accident & haven't thought to mention it here until I got $8.00 worth of coupons for free food items in the mail today.
Here's how it started -- I bought a product I really liked a few years back & decided to call the customer service 800 number listed on the package to tell them I enjoyed their product. They asked for my mailing address but I wasn't expecting anything since I had only wanted to tell them I liked their product. About week or so later, I got a letter with coupons to get that product for free (you do have to pay any applicable sales tax). It was a nice surprise!
Since I got those coupons, I've called or emailed different companies & have gotten many free coupons, discount coupons, &, occasionally, product samples (got a cat food sample yesterday). If the company has a website, you can usually find a "contact us" link somewhere & most every product has an 800 number on the packaging.
Companies often hear customer complaints but it seems positive feedback doesn't happen a great deal so they are happy to hear from satisfied customers. If you try this, maybe you could post back with your results. Not all companies respond, but many do. I'm interested to see what happens...and good luck if you try this!
