I stumbled onto this "perk" by accident & haven't thought to mention it here until I got $8.00 worth of coupons for free food items in the mail today.

Here's how it started -- I bought a product I really liked a few years back & decided to call the customer service 800 number listed on the package to tell them I enjoyed their product. They asked for my mailing address but I wasn't expecting anything since I had only wanted to tell them I liked their product. About week or so later, I got a letter with coupons to get that product for free (you do have to pay any applicable sales tax). It was a nice surprise!

Since I got those coupons, I've called or emailed different companies & have gotten many free coupons, discount coupons, &, occasionally, product samples (got a cat food sample yesterday). If the company has a website, you can usually find a "contact us" link somewhere & most every product has an 800 number on the packaging.

Companies often hear customer complaints but it seems positive feedback doesn't happen a great deal so they are happy to hear from satisfied customers. If you try this, maybe you could post back with your results. Not all companies respond, but many do. I'm interested to see what happens...and good luck if you try this! :) :wave2:

my mom does this for each new product we buy and she also calls toy companys that have small parts and tells them how she likes the product but knows her grandchildren will lose som parts real fast can they please send her replacement and they do!!

I've emailed Dole and Beechnut and gotten coupons both times. Just check out the company websites for email contact info. You can get some valuable coupoons this way.

When I used to teach Middle School English, we did this in my class when we were learning to write business letters. The students had to write one to a company about a product or service they liked and one they were dispeased with. The kids loved it because lots of them got free stuff in the mail!!

A year ago I emailed Bertolli about the frozen dinners for two that they make. They take 10 minutes to cook and are delicious! Taste to so fresh. They replied to my email and then sent me a coupon book with an outrageous number of coupons for other products. It was great!!

I've also been known to contact companies about bad service and have gotten coupons from them also, although that's not why I do it. I would just like to see them better train their employees on customer service.

Kelleigh1, I`m looking for Bertolli dinners, but my local supermarkets don`t have them, so Can I ask you where can I find these products. I was going to try Walmart supercenter next, do WMart have these? In the Frozen section right? Or maybe I`m looking at the wrong place(the frozen food section)
Thank you for helping I already spent 2 days looking for these in my area and found nothing!

I was in Walmart yesterday here in Texas....and they have them in the frozen food department. I haven't tried them, but I will now that you say they're so good. Which is the best? Barb in Texas

ines: The should be in the frozen food section. I get them at my local grocery store, but honestly, I don't think they carry them all the time. I usually pick them up when they are on sale. They come in a bag...gold colored. If you can't find them, I'd ask the store manager.

Barbara: My husband and I really like the shrimp scampi. I do like the shrimp, penne & asparagus one too...but my husband isn't a big fan of the asparagus. What I love about it is that it's crisp, not mushy.

A few years back my mother wrote a letter to Hershey asking why they did not have the hershey hot chocolate mix in our area. She recieved a case of the stuff!!!! ::yes:: hey..... you never know!!!!!

Thank you everybody! So I`m looking at the right section, and they are found at the frozen food section! I will check Walmart supercenter today. Wmart is my last hope to find these.I love shrimp! I did not answer this post section yesterday because I was cleaning my refrigerator and thinking about my monthly food shopping, and that somebody from the disney boards will help/post me finding this hard to find product. My last thing do to If i don`t get this product at WM today, will be calling the company and complain to them! Maybe I should ask them what FL stores carry their products, too! :chat:

Years ago,I had to research Adolphus Busch (as in the company that makes Bud) They never sent free samples, but they did send a whole box of stickers and corporate stuff. Many times I've tried to get my students to research company histories, but most kids just don't seem interested. One student who did research the history of Coca-cola and actually contacted the company to do it. It was amazing - a rep from the company came to the class and spoke. The kids weren't exceptionally interested in what he had to say about the company (I found it fairly interesting though) but at the end, he gave out stickers and free samples of vanilla Coke BEFORE it was released on the market. A number of students have done research on Disney, but either they never wrote to the company, or they didn't get a response. IF your kids ever have to do research, and they get to choose their topic, most companies love it. The only exception was Zamboni ( the company that makes the machines that smooth the ice on hockey rinks). They were very strange and reserved about giving any info on their company. But lots of companies will send all kinds of free stuff if a kids writes them a letter!

DD wrote to our local hospital when she was 12/13 about wanting to be a dr. and wondering if she could shadow a dr. for a day. She received an awesome reply back from the hospital with a note explaining she had to be 16 but got a big package that included a LifeFlight teddybear, a pin, some stickers, and other stuff! Great experience for her and I think I am going to have all my kids write now just for the experience of it. Good idea!
