Anyone here use the site grocery game? I am trying to find a site that will let me know where items that have coupons are on sale. I am printing coupons today(first day..woohoo) and want to know where to go to get the best savings. :yay: So very very new at this ..
What site/sites does everyone use?

whoa..just saw the price for the grocery game..not going to use that site... scratch that idea...what do you couponers use?

I always check out the I Am That Lady blog. She usually gives coupon matchups for stores in my area of Central NY. Thekrazycouponlady.com is another good site.
I am definitely not an extreme couponer because it is almost impossible in my area due to store policies. I just do my best to buy what we need on sale and with coupons. I look at coupons as mini gift cards for items we need.
Good luck!

A lot will depend on where you live. I follow livingrichwithcoupons .com, which is focused mostly on the NYC/NJ/Phila. region. She posts the coupon matchups and sales for a number of local grocery stores as well as national chains like Target and CVS for non-grocery items.

I like that she keeps up to date on the coupon policies of all of the stores and doesn't list any matchups that are not in compliance. She also provides a hyperlink for the printable coupons so that you can find them more easily and if they are part of an insert, she notes whether it was SmartSource or RedPlum and the date that the coupon appeared. She has also started a feature where she provides menus and recipes for "5 meals under $30" for select stores. It's a great way to try new recipes and do a little bit of planning for next week's dinners based on this week's sales.

Funny, the Extreme Couponing marathon is on TV right now.

We use a few coupons, but make no effort to coupon. I must not be very good at it. The coupons I find usually are for products I don't buy because they are too expensive, even with the coupon.

I haven't seen a store around here offer double coupons in I don't know how many years. And the real bargain warehouse stores never took coupons, they didn't have to, their prices were already lower. Walmart really changed that when they opened up here, they offered the lower prices and they take coupons.

I do recall my college economics Professor in the late 1970's bragging he found a coupon with no limit, for more money back on cat food than the food retailed for locally. He made money on the deal, then went out and bought a cat to eat the cases and cases of cat food he had purchased and still had money left.

I am watching the extreme coupon marathon, that is what got me clipping. My stores around Pittsburgh do double up to .99
I only use tide detergent due to allergies so I guess when on sale I need to get a hold of lots of coupons but some sites I looked at seem to let you only print one coupon..so how do I do that?

You're right that it won't work the same way for everyone. Around here, grocery stores double coupons with a face value of up to 99¢. Every once in a while, a store may offer triple coupons (with a limit). If your stores don't double, or give overages on coupons that exceed the retail price, then you will have a hard time coming remotely close to what those extreme couponers do.

A typical shopping trip for me will pretty much include a coupon for 75%-90% of the items in my cart. I don't purchase anything that I don't use unless it's a MM (money-maker), in which case I will place the item in the donation bin on my way out of the door. This week, I had coupons for fresh vegetables, berries, and free eggs, as well as rebates for plums, tomatoes, bananas, beef, ground turkey and milk. For the upcoming week, I have a coupon for $10 off a $50 grocery purchase, $3 off of a $15 produce purchase, $1 off my next order of any size, a free head of lettuce, free loaf of Italian bread with a $5 purchase, $1.99/lb boneless chicken breasts, free milk when I purchase cookies (which will be almost free after coupons, and are going into the donation bin), and yogurts that will be a MM after coupons and rebates. I've barely begun to do the sales/coupon matches for the next trip and only the cookie coupons will be doubled so far.

The key to extreme couponing is to not purchase what you will eat next week, but to purchase what you will eat before it expires. To look at my shopping list on any given week, you would shake your head and declare that you can't feed a family with what I'm buying. But I might load up on a good cereal deal this week and not buy cereal again for 2 months. Last week was a great week for $1 produce at the local market and they also offered $5-off a $20 purchase when you signed up for their new card-less loyalty program. So I filled my vegetable bin for $15. The squash, carrots, onions, potatoes, apples, pears and garlic are still good for this week. I only bought a few leafy greens this week to add to my produce. I buy meats when they are an especially good price and freeze them for later use. I have shelves of canned goods (tomatoes, olive oil, juices, peanut butter and jellies, etc.) and cabinets full of pasta, rice, flours, sugars and spices. It takes up a lot of space, but I have a huge kitchen.

Most sites will allow 2 prints of each coupon with the exception of a very few great coupons which get limited to a single print. You need multiple computers if you want more than 2 prints.

FWIW, Tide or Gain (19-32 loads) is on sale at CVS for $4.94 with your ExtraCare card starting tomorrow. You get $1 ECB back and there is a $2/1 Tide coupon in the P&G Brandsaver insert from 7/27. This makes your effect price $1.94 for a bottle. However, you're limited to only one of these deals per ExtraCare card.

It could be any of a number of coupon-printing websites: SmartSource, RedPlum, Coupons . com, as well as individual manufacturers like Pillsbury, Kellogg's and ConAgra.

It's also possible that it was his own personal website. Many of those extreme couponers were found by TLC through the shopper's own couponing blogs. I also want to add that there are quite a few cases of couponing fraud in those shows. For instance, Chris got all of that free Tide detergent by using coupons that appear at first glance to be the ones that are issued by a Chicago appliance retailer as a thank-you for purchasing a new clothes washer. Not only that, but the coupons lack the hologram strip that "free" coupons have and are present on the ones that the appliance retailer hands out. Those coupons Chris used were counterfeits. Whether Chris knew this or not is debatable but it does raise the question as to where they were obtained. Another couponer (J'aime) was using high-value coupons to purchase items from the same manufacturer but were of a lesser retail price. She had basically "cracked the code" and was exploiting it. A California teen who had also cracked the code, used over 400 counterfeit coupons to purchase $12 packages of toilet paper for free.

Like I said, don't expect the same results as those people on the show. There's a lot that goes on off-camera that isn't on the up and up.

Thanks everyone! Will get my tide at cvs tomorrow!!! Reading livingrichwithcoupons.. great site, tons of info. I am determined to begin to save. I also am gathering things to place on ebay so look for my soon to come questions..lol :rotfl2:

I like Bargains to Bounty - it covers my regional chains ( Midwest). There are TONS of couponing blogs and no reason to pay.
