I don't have any coupons worth sending this week. My paper person didn't leave my paper saturday and I haven't received any in the mail last week or any this week so far. Which I knew because Gobo2 said she didn't have much last week.

I'll email when I have some to send.

I think you should remove all of them that expire on June 30th. Even if it got there the next day (June 27th) that would give the receiver only three days until expiration. I, personally, would never have time to use them with that amount of time. I think the receiver should have at least a week until the coupons expire after they are actually received and more than a week until expiration is even better. Thanks for asking!

jacobsmom00, DH just called and your envies were returned. He said they were bagged and looked almost shredded (he mentioned freddy krueger but I didn't think it was funny). Anyways I feel guilty because I didn't tape the edges like I normally do . I'll sort through them and send them off tomorrow.

On an OT note, DH fought his first fire last night!!!! One week on and fought it by HIMSELF!

Congrats on the fire call. My hubby is a Volunteer Firefighter and today we will be dunking them in the dunk tank for money.. Gotta love that. Lets Hope we don't have a fire call like last year.

Hi Train Riders! Hope your weekend is going great so far.

I have received a plea from one of our riders asking that we all double check expirations on the coupons we forward to the next train rider. She realizes it's easy to not see a couple and let them slip by but it shouldn't be lots of them. If that happens, then someone is just being very careless which isn't fair to the next rider and costs the sender more money in postage to send coupons that can't be used.

Here's the rule of thumb that I would like ALL of us to follow. Do not enclose coupons that will be less than seven days to expiration AFTER your train buddy receives them. Ten days is even better. That means when I send my envie on Monday, June 29th, I shouldn't be sending coupons that expire before July 9th because it usually takes my envies four days to reach my train buddy and sometimes five or even six when the USPS is slow.

If you really think you have some super coupons with short expiration and think your train buddy might still be able to use them, please put them on the top of your pile and clip them together with a little note saying "Note short expiration on these coupons." Then your receiver will be aware of the short expiration and also be aware that you knew what you were sending. Please note: These coupons with short expirations should NOT be the majority of your envie of coupons.

Two other important reminders:

You cannot just forward the coupons that your train buddy sends to you each week. You MUST be buying at least one copy of the Sunday newspaper and clipping the most recent inserts and including those in your envie for that week. That is not a new rule. That info is in the first post on page one of our thread and everyone must follow it to be riding on the train.

If you do not receive an envie for the previous week from your train buddy, please still buy the Sunday paper, clip the coupons, and send a small envie of coupons to your train buddy with a note to her/him explaining that you didn't receive an envie and that's why yours is small. If you don't send anything at all, it cause the train to derail and then I have to try to track down the problem spot and do the repairs.

If this happens to you more than once, I want to be informed PLEASE. I do not monitor who posts on our thread. I just don't have time to figure that out each week so I count on you to let me know when you're having a problem. If you don't PM me, I don't know there's a problem usually and then I can't help. If you're comfortable contacting your train buddy and communicating with him or her first, I would REALLY appreciate it if you would do that first before contacting me. Communication is essential to making this work for all of us.
