Couple questions

Hello All.
I'm thinking of buying dvc.
If i buy i would buy next march.
I have a plan that the next year after that my whole family would come down for a big trip. About 10-12 people. So i would need a 3 bedroom for the whole crew for a week.
My questions are can i buy temp points from disney for this trip when i buy the dvc? Also if i buy next year will i be limited to saratoga springs?
And how easy is it to get a reservation at other resorts.
Because if i buy this i will go to wdw most of the time but would want to go disneyworld and other places that they say i can go from around the us to around the world.


Also do you really need 7 months for a reservation..
Can you put the yearly dues on your loan.
Also i would want to get a annual pass everyyear.
What kind of discount do you get and can i roll that into my loan?

My questions are can i buy temp points from disney for this trip when i buy the dvc? No, but you can rent points from other members and have them transferred into your account. The rent/trade board here is a great place to find points for rent.

Also if i buy next year will i be limited to saratoga springs? Probably, but it depends on if DVC has any inventory available at the other resorts through defaults or buy-backs (ROFR). Remember that all current resors, except Saratoga Springs have an ending date of January 2042, Saratoga ends in 2054.

And how easy is it to get a reservation at other resorts. It depends upon the season and any special events like Food & Wine Fest. Book as early as possible for best results.

What kind of discount do you get and can i roll that into my loan? Currently DVC members get $100 off a standard AP and $125 off a Premium AP. It can not be included in your loan, and that discount perk can be withdrawn at any time. We have only been able to get a discount on APs for the last 2 years, before that we paid full price. Members and their immediate family are eligible for the discount. Photo ID for all adults must be presented to prove that they live in the same household to receive the discount.

As long as i can get reservations for other places i will be happy.
Also on the annaul pass thing i didn't know if it only worked if you got a bunch at the same time.
I really want to do this, It sounds good i would go everyyear at least.
Maybe a one bedroom a week and a studio for a 4 day weekend or something.
I will check the rent trade area of the board for points to rent.

The discount is applied no matter when your purchase your pass. For instance, my pass expires May 31, so I renew it at that time as that is one of our normal travel dates to Disney. Mom's pass expires in mid-December, and she get hers then, as that is our other normal travel time. They do not have to be purchased together...but as I stated, you'll need photo ID showing you live in the same household, along with your DVC membership card.

Most GV will need the 11 month booking. That is what you will need for 12. OKW has the best point value.
