Hello! I have a couple questions. I just booked my first DVC stay (woo!) for Sept 9th-15th at AKV Kidani. I noticed my reservation did not automatically show up on my MDE and I had to manually add it, is this normal?

Also I'm looking to buy my first annual pass because of the current deal, I won't activate it till I go in September, but will I be able to make fast pass reservations with just having a room on my account?

Thanks in advance! :)

Your reservation must be linked in MDE. It won't happen automatically. Same with dining reservations.
You can make FP selections 60 days in advance of a resort stay.

You do have to have a ticket linked in MDE to make FP+ selections. I think a not-activated AP will work, though.

As long as you have the transaction number for your AP purchase, you can use that on MDE to make you FP choices.

This is correct. It also shouldn't be a problem since you are getting an AP, but if you decide to buy a shorter pass, you will only be able to make FP for the # of days you have a ticket. For example, I think I got a 5 or 6 day ticket from UT for our last August stay (and we were there for 1 day longer), because it was before the DVC ticket deal came out. I couldn't upgrade to the DVC PP+AP until I got to the park, so I think I was barred from making FP for one day at the end.

Thanks everyone! Lots of help. Been to Disney so many times, but all of this part is new to me.
