DH and I will be attending the Food and Wine Festival for first time this year and we are really lloking forward to it. A couple of questions though:

1. What is the average cost of a food and wine pairing per country?

2. What other countries have been featured in addition to the countries already there?

3. Is it true that you can get a discounted rate per country being a DVC member? (I've seen $5 per country for a food and wine pairing as opposed to $8) Is this right ? If so where do you purchase these discounted or would I be better off with the wrist thingy?

Thanks for all your help in advance, I get so much info from these boards.

I generally don't order a pairing with every kiosk. There were 27 kiosks last year, I believe! The food items can be around $5 for the entree type items, less for some types of soups or desserts. The most expensive item was the lobster roll at $7+. It can get very pricey, very fast.

2. What other countries have been featured in addition to the countries already there?

They've featured Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Thailand, Spain, Poland, Greece, India, South Africa, Australia, Austria, New Zealand, Chile, were among the countries featured that aren't already represented at Epcot. Those countries were represented except for Norway or other Scandinavian countries.

Ok, let's correct the DVC thing. The food kiosks in World Showcase don't offer discounts of any kind. This year, Disney started charging guests to attend the food and wine demos/seminars at the Festival Center. Those were $8 full price, or $5 for DVC, AP type discounts. The discounted tickets were limited, so if those were sold out, you would only be able to purchase full price tickets if available. That happened to me.

This year, I plan to skip the paid demos (mostly because you don't get refunds and don't know what the chefs are preparing until that day). I might attend a food demo if it's a chef I want to see. I'm waiting until the food and wine info gets released. Usually we will have a food and wine discussion thread in June, and the updates for information will be linked in the first post.

Thanks for the info. We just made our reservations today and we cannot wait to eat our way around the world.

I think you may be thinking of the presentations in the Festival Center-a well-known Chef making a recipe, while everyone gets a sample and wine. Two years ago those presentations were free. Then last year Disney charged $8 per event (about 45 minutes), but there were a certain number of tickets discounted to $5 for DVC members.
