Coupla pics of Transformers 3 filming in Chicago

Headed into the city yesterday and to check it out and we got to see Josh Duhamel fiming a scene with the miliitary guys...and BumbleBee...lots of other really cool stuff...glad we went down!

Josh is to the left, leaning on the railing. We have a lot more pictures but here is a link to the T3 site, pretty much what we were able to see and then some! The crowd was kept at a distance, so I had to rely on my macro zoom, loved having it for sure!

I'm excited...I love the Transformers movies. And I love them for what they are...mindless action flicks with hot cars and lots of explosions.

well, I know the ending of the film takes place in Chicago, so I can't help you out much, but seriously, it was very cool to see. We were able to see several *takes* of where the military guys run up the stairs from the river to the Tribune Building, several explosions, missed the free base jumpers..they went off the Trump building in the early morning. We were able to see the crew adn cast trailer area, costume trucks, supplies etc. They REALLY had the area fenced off tho, due to the pyrotechnics, jumpers etc. If one was lucky enough to be in the Tribune Tower, you had one sweet view. We were on Michigan Ave where the filming was taking place for a while, but jammed...all I know is I am glad we went down..whole day cost us $23 mostly on drinks as it was sunny and hot so got a thirsty. Use my WDW trick and ask for cups of ice at McD's, works well! can't beat that!

No, did not see him myelf, but a lady next to me at one point did..and then again today he was signing autographs and stuff for the crowd along Michigan Ave...I did see Tyrese thru my zoom, does that count? I was so thrilled to see Josh, and of him actually filming a scene, OH, and another guy said he saw Patrick Dempsey on Friday I think...

My DD is so psyched...we were able to see debris and rubble that they truck in/out...we took a pic of her by a trashed SUV under (styrofoam) debri,,,and she has an "oops" look on her face, they were hauling several vehicles over by forklift, there was an upside down CTA bus there too. I just think it is going to be so cool to see. One thing that was interesting was each shot was being filmed for 3D also ( DD goes to college for 3D Animation, so she knew what was going on better than I)...made for a lot of delays..and Michael Bay sure does like to make sure the explosions are exactly what he wants. I could not believe the amount of people involved..there were Secret Service type guys everywhere, then crew poeple , then people in yellow t-shirts who help direct the gen public, then all the people guarding where you could not walk, then all the people telling you where you could not stop to take pictures because it was causing a bottle neck...it was so fun tho! The helicopters that were filming also were circling several buildings and then hovering directly at one for a long time, so I imagine some CGI Transformers will be added to those.

They are supposed to be filming in the Daytona Beach area soon. They are calling for extras. We may try to go over and be part of the beach crowd. It all depends on whether or not they will require me to put on a bathing suit. I'd hate to ruin the film!

There are going to be some Nascars in it too...we saw Jimmie Johnsons #48 ( briefly, they were overing the cars up quickly) DS is NOT a JJ fan, so he was bummed it is in the move..no idea if it is Autobot or Decepticon tho.

Thanks for posting this, very cool! You just made 4year olds day, his current obsession is Bumblebee. I wonder when they are filming at Daytona, we are headed to Disney in a few weeks, and if DS got to see bumblebee? It would probably overshadow Disney

My youngest DBro, 21, is a PA on the movie! He is just about to start his Sr. year in film school so he is in hog heaven! He called DMom last night and was telling her he was doing the night shift. All of the sudden he said, "There's an explosion and gun fire, gotta go!

So far he has worked 4 film days, most of the time he is on crowd control. Yesterday he had to go to the PA trailer to drop something off. He knocked on the door, no answer, knocked again, nothing. He turned around to look for some help and came facr to face with Rosie! It was her trailer, not the PA! And being the typical 21 yo red blooded male, he stuttered and stammered and ran away!

He should work several more shifts as they are supposed to be in the area until Aug 23. If he sends any pics, I will post them.

To each their own. I was entertained but then again, I wasn't expecting it to be an award winning movie.

Looking forward to the third one except for the lack of Megan Fox.

We loved both of the Transformers movies. Well, we grew up with the cartoons (DH is 36, I will be 35 in a couple of months), so I am sure that has to do something with it.

I would love to be watching them film the next movie! Lucky duck!

Yes, he starts his Sr year at Columbia in Sept. He has made two or three of his own films and one is being considered for a film festival! He was told there were 800 applications so he was very happy to get the PA job and is taking it very seriously. I had to laugh, yesterday his FB update was "Sorry Folks, you can't walk this way..." Can you tell he is on crowd control and said that about 1000 times yesterday!

I asked him for pics so with luck we will have some good close ups soon.
