Counting Our Nuts Like Chip & Dale, a Financially Aware PTR *Update 4/17 Pg 62 *

I need to go back and catch up but I just looked at our tickers and I think we are there at the same time!!!!:thumbsup2

I booked today for us! 1/15-22, tomorrow is ADR day, right? I've got a lot of work ahead of me tonight!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

All of your new plans look great -- both park days and dining plans! Plus, while you have budgeted a certain amount for food, again if you don't spend all of it, then you have really saved money over the dining plan -- after all, you don't get anything for credits you didn't use. When we went last July for Chelsea's birthday, we spent almost the same amount OOP than we would have on the dining plan, BUT we ate totally differently and it included alcoholic drinks and tips. So, really, we were so much happier not doing the dining plan.
I'm happy with our new dining plans and budget, I'm much happier with where we are going to eat. Now I'm contemplating ordering some water and other snacky things from garden grocer but I'm not in love with the idea of a $40 minimum order.

This past January the only park we had EMH trouble with was the MK. It was a Monday, with evening EMH and a MSEP. It was a zoo - we left for the afternoon and went back for the parade. It felt like a 8 crowd day instead of a 4. I love AK's evening EMH!
In January 2010 I was at MK EMHs and it was a zoo too but then again we went to the park in the middle of the day which probably wasn't the smartest idea. I'm really excited to see AK at night in the dark, it will be fun.

I think the new plans sound great. And it looks like you'll be saving money without the DP. I know the totals were about the same, but your OOP cost included tips, so there's a good saving right there.

On the EMHs.... I've never done them, but I am considering it for this trip. I've been thinking that since Disney has stopped running the monorail on EMH evenings, that must mean that the crowds are too low to make it worth the cost. To me, that says EMHs might be a good idea, but what do I know? I REALLY want to do eve. EMHs at AK at least once though so I can see it at night. It's the only park I have never seen all lit up.

I think you've got a good plan going! You should feel good about it and stop worrying. And since all of your ADRs are at resorts, you are free to change your park days as needed without having to shift everything around. Worst case scenario.... you get there and see the EMHs days are too crowded, you can just switch to plan B and keep on going! :thumbsup2
I feel like I sometimes never stay late enough to benefit from the low crowds at EMHs, I don't know. I guess I need to really concentrate on taking breaks and napping so we can stay up later.

Are your friends joining you or is just the 5 of you?? I'm so excited that we could meet up!! Especially since we really don't live that far away from each other.:rolleyes1 We are pretty much going to the parks on their EMHs days, just seemed to work out that way.

Well, I hope this doesn't sound as bad on "paper" as it does in my head but, I'm hoping that it's just the 5 of us. We aren't 100% sure that that is the case, but should know for sure, soon.:rolleyes1 We have done the last two trips with them and are hoping for family time, hope that sounds okay!! And not too selfish!

I'll be working tonight on it and will keep you posted! Did you book your flight? Are you going out of Logan? We are thinking of doing the 6a flight on Jetblue on the 15th! I'm excited, too, that we can meet up! YAY!!!!!!!!:cheer2:

We haven't gotten our flights yet, we usually fly out of Manchester on Southwest so I'm waiting to see how their prices compare to Jet Blue. If we do Jet Blue the 6AM flight is the one we were looking at as well.

That doesn't sound selfish at all. Honestly, I don't think I'm meant to vacation with other people. It's just too hard for me. You are a saint in my eyes for having two successful trip with them or anyone for that matter.

How funny will it be if we're on the same flight?! I priced it today! $215 RT from Boston to MCO on Jetblue, just as an FYI. Cheap (compared to our last trips...)!!:thumbsup2

Thanks LL, glad it came across exactly how I meant it! :lovestruc I LOVE my BFF and her family (they are my family!) but just hoping to have a 5 of us kind of trip, but once you start traveling with people, they kind of expect it to always happen, you know? Either way, it will be fab, but just kind of hoping to be just with my boys this time around!:cloud9: Fingers crossed!!

Off to check out EMH and everything now! I'm SOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, you forced me to pull open the JetBlue website. :rotfl2: That price would put me $70 under my flight budget. Hmmmm.....I'm going to have to think on that. Those little tvs are very appealing to me.

Aren't you getting APs?? You should totally have a birthday trip!!

YES!!!!!!! Jetblue non stop!!!!!!!!!!! :rolleyes1
The flight just has to be non stop, the whole landing and taking off thing is not my favorite part.

LL, ever heard of Yapta.com? I talked about it on my last TR, you have to check it out! You book your trip, say on Jetblue, register your flight on Yapta.com, it will track the price of your ticket, if it goes down, you call Jetblue and they credit you! It's free, so easy and we saved $279 on our last trip and I just got a free ticket for us to use on our next trip!:thumbsup2

I love the little TV's on JetBlue! Last year, I watched Wall-E on my iPod for pretty much the entire flight down, but all the other times I have made a lot of use of the little TV's. Makes the time go by quickly. ;) We also got a really good deal on a nonstop flight through JetBlue and I'm looking at them for a possible flight to NC in a few months. Love JetBlue!

I remember you talking about Yapta.com, I guess I really need to look into that. I'm still going to wait to see what Southwest offers but Jetblue is a high possibility. :thumbsup2

I usually read but I found my last few flights dragging by in time and I really don't want that this time around, I just want to close my eyes and wake up in Disney. :rotfl2:

I had a very successful ADR morning today. At first I panicked because I didn't get the memo from Disney that they don't open the online dining reservations until after 6AM, I thought it was earlier than that. Oh well, at exactly 6:04am I was making my ADRs.

Monday 1/16: Yachtsman Steakhouse @ 5PM

Tuesday 1/17: Kona Cafe @ 5:15PM

Thursday 1/19: Narcoossee's @ 7:30PM

Not terribly exciting but it works for us. I started to freak out a bit about our dinner times and days because we are having our pictures taken by my friend but I decided that if it doesn't fit into our schedule then so be it. We can have pictures taken at home, I need this to be a low stress trip, because that is the point of taking a vacation in the first place!

ADRs are set, park days are set...so now what? Shopping lists? Must dos? Packing list? Ahhh...I love all the fun stuff you get to do when you are planning a Disney trip. :goodvibes

180 days!!! :jumping1::hyper::jumping1::hyper::jumping1:

Congrats on getting the ADR's you wanted! :woohoo: I love ADR day, it makes the trip seem so much closer!

Yahooo or (woot woot as Jen would say!) for securing your ADR's!! Great choices and great times you ended up with!

Of course now, lots more list making to do, but Disney list-making is far above :thumbsup2

Happy ADR day LL!!!!! Mine seems like it wasn't that long ago and here I am one month out!!!!!
