It's official...I switched our reservations from WL to a cabin at The Fort! This will be our first stay there and we are so excited! The info posted on here has been very helpful so far. I'm looking forward to learning more

Have fun, you will love it. We love WL but not as much as FW. And the cabins are like having your privacy but also house keeping.

Make sure you plan time to hang at the Fort, don't just run to the parks. Play some shuffleboard, do some activities at the Meadows and for sure, watch the fireworks and electrical parade from the beach.

Thanks everyone! Yes, we are definitely planning to spend time at the fort to enjoy all it offers, in addition to going to all the parks. Mid-week we will have a whole day without any parks and then some other times throughout the week where we will be at the Fort too. Excited!!

You'll enjoy the peace and quiet sitting on your deck of the FW cabin. Once you do that you'll feel claustrophobic in a resort again.

I too, love the Wilderness Lodge. It is so beautiful!
We have Thanksgiving dinner there every year.
However, we take the boat over from the Fort.
That is our 'Home'.
