You can't put a price on quality craftsmanship honey!
Sure you can, the issue here is if it is $200 or $20

Once again, Ember is the voice of reason! Well said, again!![]()
No, because it has never been about making fun of other people's stuff. Did I ever say we mocked the purse owners? Wow, you guys sure don't get it do you, but you like to jump to conclusions and read into things about people you barely know. Evidently those of you who say you have "better things to do" don't.
Wow people. Wow. The OP is making absolute sense with her original post, and people have to bring this thread down to the level it's currently at because they are reverse snobs about designer handbags. And because she plays a silly little game about real vs fake bags. That's all it is - a silly little game - commenting on bags. Big deal, guys. BIG DEAL.
Pointing out fake purses that BELONG TO OTHERS is not about making fun?
I could understand if youre at the flea market and show your child a fake someone is selling and tell her, look at the stitching, look at how it lines up, etc.

Anyhoo..."spot-the-fake" seems like a pretty mean way to spend downtime. Sugar coat it however you like it. SOunds like snickering at fat people and claiming it's an education for your daughter so she'll eat healthy.
Which we also do, as well as check all the pics on Ebay, ask for advice on the purse forum, etc. etc.
Just to play devil's advocate...I wonder if the designer manufacturers really do lose money from these sales. Disclaimer: I don't own any knock-off bags. I'm sure I will never have the inclination and I doubt I will ever have the means to pay $1500 for a bag. So LV, Coach, etc. will never have a sale from me. If I bought a fake bag because I liked the look of it, there would be no sale lost from me, because I'd just buy a different one I liked the look of if the knock-off wasn't available. To be honest, I wouldn't even know a LV, real or fake, if I saw one.
All that just for purses? Seriously?
Why not? People who aren't into Disney would say the same thing about us on the DISboards. What's the difference between the OP researching purses for hours at a time if she chooses to - or any poster here spending hours posting on the DIS?

Good question. I have an authentic Coach and LV, and a knockoff Coach. Guess which one has a stich coming out and had to be fixed? I'll give you a hint: it's real.I have a hard time believing that the $35 I paid Pookie on the street in NYC went to a terrorist to buy a gun.
Okay, last post then I'm done, because you are taking pot shots now. Not that I need to explain, but for you, I will. Pointing out the fakes to my DD is an education for her to identify if she is going to be ripped off in the future. She now knows that if she is to spend her hard earned money, she will pay for what she is expecting and not for a fake. It has no bearing on the purse carrier, but you probably don't believe that anyway because you already have your mind made up what kind of person I am, since you know me so well from the few posts this evening. The Olympics are on, I'm watching the skating (dare I admit that or do I open myself up to more jests?). On the advice of a legal friend, I'm calling the FBI ICE agency in Williston tomorrow morning to file a complaint against the kiosk and I'm done. Have a wonderful evening everyone. Enjoy your wonderfully diverse interests.
Knock-offs of any product cheapen the brand. That's one of the reasons counterfitting is illegal. Our personal opinion on the worthiness of the brand is irrelevant.
So my real Coach is falling apart because I bought a fake Coach? Is it jealous or upset?![]()
Yes, she likes to be thorough and hates to waste money. And before anyone tells us to "get a life", let me tell you that she has 13 universities looking at her for basketball, is graduating a year early, is a member of the National Honor Society, scored extremely well on her SATs, is taking AP and Honors level courses (with a 4.2 GPA), has a steady boyfriend, a very active social life, loves to travel overseas, is an avid theatregoer and is attending a post graduate year at prep school next year so she can position herself well to attend a decent school for pre-med.
Some people plan their Disney vacations down to the minute, don't they? That's one of the things she wants to be spontaneous about! And some people analyze NASCAR, fantasy football or video games. À chacun son goût - we say, "to each his own".
There is no way on earth anyone can make me believe they can sit on a bench at the mall eating a Cinnabon and point out fakes from 20 feet. Are you an authorized dealer? Have you sold them for years and years? Do you follow these people around with your nose to their purse measuring the C's and LV's??
