We had 7 counter service meals during our week and here is where we used them:
1) Wolfgang Puck Express--a good choice and a good value. I don't remember what we all got--I got a roast beef sandwich and I think DH got chicken. I know my daughters (17 and 14) and I got creme brulee for dessert. It was our son's first "adult" trip (he's 10!) and he wanted to eat off of the kid's menu, but figured out something he could eat pretty quickly.
2) Flame Tree BBQ--I thought about eating at Pizzafari on our AK morning, but I'm kind of pizza'ed out--my oldest works at a Marco's pizza and when we are short of time we grab one since we get them 50% off on nights she works. I get to the point I think I'll hurl if I see another pizza. So we stayed with our tried n' true Flame Tree. The 17 year old and I got the BBQ sandwich, my son got the fruit plate, DH got the chicken, my 14 year old got the turkey sandwich. We ate at the lowermost landing watching Everest and seeing the ducks, who were less agressive than last year. Good quality here.
3) Cosmic Ray's--we usually choose this or Pecos Bills at MK based on where we are when lunch opens up. DH got the chicken (I'm seeing a pattern), the 14 year old got a salad, the rest of us got hot dog/hamburger type food. Nothing extraordinary, but we enjoy watching Sonny Eclipse and my youngest thinks the jokes are hysterical.
4) Sunshine Seasons--we ate here after we got off of Soarin'. The benefit here is you can get your dessert from the bakery area instead of the prepackaged chocolate cake/carrot cake you seem to be stuck with everywhere else in the parks. We all got good sandwiches except DH (chicken!) and the girls and I got creme brulee, which was a great choice--my son got the chocolate mousse cake--DH didn't get the memo and had the carrot cake. This is a much healthier option than eating at Electric Umbrella, plus you can get drink refills. For future world, this is the good pick.
5) Studio Catering Co. --this was OK, nothing more. Not a lot of options at DHS.
6) Leaning Palms at TL--same here--just OK, if you need a place to eat. Nothing to write home about.
7) Earl of Sandwich--we ate here on our last day before we had to get on the ME bus. We were all so stuffed by this time most of us couldn't finish our sandwiches. We had one best BLT, a ham and swiss, a hawaiian BBQ, an italian sub, and a caesar salad between the 5 of us. Also chocolate pudding for dessert. Watch the dessert choice--they prominently display some good looking desserts that are NOT included on the DDP. My kids all had to take their first choice back. But again, good quality and value for the DDP.

The roast beef sandwich, was this like Arby's roast beef platter?
I was in America in 1980's and loved these, sadly in my last five holidays at wdw have not been able to get anything like it.

Thanks for posting you reviews! found them very useful :thumbsup2
Just wondered if you could tell me which desserts weren't included at earl of sandwich? i was Hoping to get the chocolate brownie, muffin crown or icecream sandwich!

thanks for your reviews.......I love Earl of Sandwich and can hardly wait to go back and get The Full Montagu..
We do like Cosmic Rays too with all the choices.....

We have used the plan the last several times and it works out pretty well for our family.
The roast beef was not like Arby's. It had cheese on it and wasn't the thin slices Arby's uses. It was more like cut off of a real roast!
Sorry to say that at Earl of Sandwich both of my daughters wanted the ice cream sandwich and it was not included. DH wanted a large parfait and that wasn't included either. DS and I picked pudding anyhow so we were fine, and everyone ended up with pudding. It's just a little nerve wracking when families are waiting to pay for their food and you have to quickly find a dessert that is included while people are cooling their heels behind you; you don't have a lot of time to choose. That's why I wish they were labeled as to whether or not they are on the DDP.
