We are considering the dining plan for our 2013 trip-we've never done it before. *Do all the CS restaurants require reservations? I know the character meals do, but having a hard time getting my mind around making ADRs so far out for each day's CS! Thanks!!!

Cs means counter service/ walk up and ts means table service/ sit down with waiters..... Hopes this helps!

And yes, if you are on the dining plan, you really should have ADRs for all of your Table Service meals, character or not. Otherwise you risk not getting into a restaurant for a particular meal and wasting that credit.

I agree with Minnie Mum. We always have an ADR for 1 TS meal, usually dinner, each day. I make those ADR's right at 180 days to insure that I have a spot at the popular restaurants I want.
First I plan which park, which day. Then I make an ADR either in that park or at a resort restaurant nearby. You do NOT want to be crisscrossing Disney property for an ADR.
WDW is huge and you could waste a lot of time traveling if you are not careful.
If making dining plans far in advance really does not appeal to you, I would suggest not getting the basic DDP with TS meals. There is also the Quick Service Plan where you eat only at CS (walk up) quick food spots. You don't need any reservations for these. You wait your turn in line to order, than you take your trays of food in search of a place to sit and eat. There is a nice variety of CS options availble.

I think it's always wise to have ADRs arranged. For us it was always simplier to do breakfasts so the ADR was done and we had the rest of the day free.

However depending on the time of year and whether they're offering free dining (which makes it busier) you can pick up ADRs while you're down there but that's more iffy IMO. In January 2007 we went down relatively naive and with only one ADR - made the rest of them while we were down there. However it was a really slow time of year and they weren't offering FD so it was easy to do (and we ate basically all character meals).
