First of all, you need to know that you will use all of your meal and snack credits. I think that if you stick to the WDW owned restaurants, it is a break even. The way to do well with this plan is to eat at places like Wolfgang Puck Express and the Pepper Market.
We had the plan in April and we shared some meals, that were too large and then used extra credits for breakfast at wolfgang puck express a couple of mornings. We also stayed at Coronado Springs for a couple of nights and ate there once for lunch and once for dinner. We like dessert on vacation, so we came out ahead as we most likely would have bought dessert at least with dinner. I never had a burger, and there were a lot of choices!

Thank you for that breakdown. I spent hours trying to figure out if the DDP would work for me back in the old days and did NOT Want to embark on this new dining plan adventure (mathmatically speaking!)
I totally believe you and consider it a done deal!
We were at CSR and with the Pepper Market we def saved money on this plan. If we hadn't been there I'm not so sure. We would've broken even at least and that's not counting snacks. (we even left some behind I'm afraid!)
I did really enjoy it as it was easy and didn't require ADRs and tips and cash.
We did pay OOP for 2 TS meals. Which didn't seem all that bad.
