Are there any other counter service restaurants that serve onion rings besides Flame Tree Barbecue? Being from abroad, this is one of the American specialities that we love to get when in the USA. I have researched menus online and found only Flame Tree! So any help on where to get them would be great! :goodvibes

I was going to say Flame Tree!

B&C has yummy onion rings and although they are considered a TS, the prices aren't much more than a CS

hmmm, i can't think of anywhere else. :confused3

Another table service -- 50s Prime Time Cafe in DHS. I think Sci-Fi Diner in DHS too, but again -- another table service!

Will you have a car?

Most grocery stores have deli sections with Onion rings. Our local Safeway (not in Florida) has the best onion rings and you can get a huge bag for $2.50. Perhaps someone will know if Publix has good onion rings.

Also, you might want to try the Bloomin' Onion at Outback Steakhouse. :thumbsup2

I suggest that you check out allears.net they have menus that include pricing for all CS and TS locations.

i am stumped. I asked a few foodie friends and they all had the same answers

here is a link to the DIS Menus.

If there are any other places, I am sure someone will let us know :)

KarenNY pointed out the BW to Go cart thingy has onion rings too!
Thanks Karen!!

Thanks to everyone who replied!! Unfortunately we won't have a car, so going off property is not really an option, but it is a great tip for future trips! :goodvibes

And I can tell you the onion rings were scrummy!! I had some only a week or so ago, Huge portion (for me anyways) hot and delicious!! Worth a trip to the BW - and the bakery is only a few steps away too.... :rolleyes1

It's early and I need to ask - what is Scrummy? It sounds bad (kind of like scummy), but you say they're delicious. Scrummy makes me nervous to try them - are they slimy?

Thanks! :goodvibes

I presume it's a shortened version of scrumptious - a Brit thing I guess, but a word I use all the time!! It does mean delicious, nice, yummy etc :cutie:

Thanks for clarifying! I was really nervous about the texture of the onion in the middle. For some reason I couldn't get scummy out of my head, now I know better. :)

scummy :scared1: I would not want to eat those!!

But I think a quick tour to the Boardwalk from Epcot sounds like a great plan for us!!

This is a very good question! I sure wish that more CS places offered o-rings instead of fries. I think that the CS fries at WDW are pretty nasty.

It is a bit strange that they are not offered at more places, isn't it? I always got the impression that they are very common in the USA, so why not at WDW? :confused3

You've got me thinking about this.
My guess is that since they are less popular than french fries, and aren't very good after they've been sitting around outside the fryer, it is easier to just crank out the fries rather than have a customer wait 5 minutes for rings.
They have the fast food thing down to a science, and i'm pretty sure they'd rather keep those food lines moving.

I agree that fries have a longer 'shelf' life and are easier to make. I believe that fries are also quite a bit cheaper than onion rings.
