Hi, everyone --

This is my first post on this board, but it seems like you guys are into everything, so I thought maybe someone could help me.

I want to do a counted cross stitch that has a saying in the middle with a border around it. I have charts for the borders, but not for the saying. I printed the saying out on the computer, but now I'm wondering how I can transfer it to the cross stitch fabric.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

you can try counting the number of stiches on the fabric in the area you need the saying to go into, then use graph paper to see how to best position the saying. For example: if the saying is 30 stitches long by 20 high, count off 30 blocks across and 20 down on the paper and draw a line around the area. You can then see the best way to space the letters in the saying inside the area. Hope this helps.

oops, maybe you already did figured that out and you're just trying to get the pattern onto the material? I've seen transfer paper in AC Moore and Michael's.

If you are trying to get your saying on the graph paper, try using your graph paper as printing paper and then just print the saying on the grah paper from your computer. I hope that made sense.

How big is the saying - can you just eyeball it - I did that with the saying 'some of gods greatest gifts are unanswered prayers' and it came out great -

if not could you print it in reverse put it down onto the fabric while it is still 'wet' at rub hard to transfer it???

Thanks for the ideas. I'll have to see what I can do. I'm not sure what would work best.

We'll see what happens!!!
