Counted Cross Stitch Floss help

I am working on the 5" X 7" Cinderella one that is by Thomas Kinkade. I would like to make 2 of them. However I know there is not enough floss in the kit to do two of them. Does anyone know what kind of floss is in the kit? Or have a list of the floss that would match DMC floss???

Kim,

I emailed them and they said it was not dmc. So the only thing I can think of is to get a DMC Thread card and match them up. You can find the card at Hobby Lobby or Joanns.

If you do an internet search, there is a Candamar to DMC thread conversion list available.

Unfortunately for us stitchers.. Kits often come with no name floss. I guess it's cheaper to put together.

I often will use a chart and get my own floss.

There are online floss conversion sites for most fibers out there. But they aren't always the right colors, just something close. I'd get the floss card and go from there.

I don't know if this helps or not, but I am the lead in the needlework dept. at Hobby Lobby in Ft. Myers. I believe the thread in the kits we sell is mass produced for those kits. I have had success in helping customers get a close match by using a conversion chart that we have in our store. If you bring in the yarn you have left over you may have a close match to a DMC floss that is widely available. HTH
