Hiya Pals,
This is my very first post on the DIS Boards!! I've been reading posts and threads for a few years now feeding into my love of the Disney parks. So now it's my turn to have a little fun. My fiancé and I decided to plan a trip to Disneyland this summer to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. Since joining the DIS Boards I've read many threads about Disney movie nights as a way to prepare and get excited for your Disney trip...I decided quickly that this was something we definitely needed to do. We decided to do one movie a week for the 10 weeks prior to our trip to Disneyland. We each picked 5 movies and then the order was randomly picked. I love papercrafting So I busted out my Cricut Explore (it's a die cutting machine) and cut out some characters from the movies to decorate our mantel. We also had a meal that was themed as well to fit the movie of the night. I figured it would be easiest to link each movie night back to this first post so then you can just click and head straight to the post about that movie night.

1: Frozen
2: Peter Pan
3: The Muppet Movie
4: The Incredibles
5: Mulan
6: The Princess and the Frog
7: Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3
8: The Lion King
9: Cars, Cars 2
10: Tarzan

See ya real soon!!

Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?

Our first movie night was a success!! It was 68 days (now 67) before we leave for Disneyland.

The first movie in our line-up was Frozen.

I know some people are burned out on this movie but it still holds a special place in my heart. I used the DIS Boards to help me get ideas for our dinner. But first up are pics of the decorations. I cut all of these out on my Cricut and I have a box dedicated to my Disney cuts so I can keep them to hopefully use many more time. My fiancé and I definitely want to do movie nights with our kids when we have them.

Aren't those cute?? On to our feast for the night. I'll let the pics tell you what we enjoyed. I made little name cards so that you can see the names of all the things we ate.

We had to have a snack to enjoy with the movie. I used orange sixlets but I was looking for orange M&M's but had no luck finding them.

And what meal would be complete without dessert??

Hope you enjoyed our first movie night because we sure did. Can't wait until next week...for my favorite Disney movie from my childhood...Peter Pan.

See ya real soon!!!

All You Need is Faith, Trust and a Little Bit of Pixie Dust

I'm back again to share our second movie night. Only 61 days (now 60) until we're heading to the Happiest Place on Earth. We're quite excited. I think these movie nights and meals are our favorite meal of the week. This weekend we'll start making our ADRs for our trip. We only have 3 places we're going to ADR. The first place is Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue at DL. We'll hopefully be eating there the first night we get there. For our second day we're going to ADR the WOC Dining Package for lunch at Carthay Circle at DCA. Then our last one will be at Blue Bayou for lunch at DL

Now that I'm thinking about the food we're going to eat at our ADRs let's get to last night's movie night...Peter Pan. One of my favorite childhood movies. And I think it started my love of Tinker Bell.

I busted out my trusty Cricut again to cut out some characters from the movie to hang on the mantel.

I love how the Darling children and Peter look like they are flying off to Neverland with these cuts. Now on to dinner...we had a pretty low-key dinner. Nothing to complicated. I'll let the pictures tell the story.

This punch was quite fun to make. Its strawberry lemonade mix made with sparkling strawberry water...it was delicious. Then I rimmed our glasses with pixie dust aka colored sugar crystals.

We had to have a movie snack.

And lastly our dessert. Hope you enjoyed our 2nd movie night. It was a blast. Next week we'll be joining the Muppets to see where it all began.

See Ya Real Soon

Life is like a Movie, Write Your Own Ending. Keep Believing. Keep Pretending.

Welcome to our third movie night...we're 54 days (now 53 days) away from Disneyland. Crazy that our next movie night we'll be under 50 days.

As I mentioned before our third movie night was The Muppets (the original one). I have a sweet spot for the Muppets...I own every movie and the TV show as well. I'm also quite excited that they are bringing the Muppets back to TV.

Of course my movie nights wouldn't be complete without decorations.

Now onto a modge podge of dinner. Due to so many Muppets there are lots of options for food.

Our dinner wouldn't have been complete without something referring to Rainbow Connection. We cut one open so you could see the colorful inside. These were a lot of fun to make. There are six colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple) although the photo makes it a little hard to see them all.

Until next week when we ask "Where is my super suit?"

I Never Look Back, Darling! It Distracts From the Now.

This week we did our movie night a early since we are going out of town this weekend. We are 48 days away from Disneyland!!

Our 4th movie night was one that my fiance was looking forward to...mostly because this was a movie he picked. When we decided to do movie nights leading up to Disneyland we chose to do one movie a week for the 10 weeks before, I chose 5 movies and my fiance picked 5 movies. Then I randomly drew movies out of a hat to make the order for our movie nights. The first 3 movies were ones that I picked and this week's movie was the first one that he picked. Anyway...on to our movie night.

The Incredibles!!! So excited to hear more about the sequel for The Incredibles. Our movie nights wouldn't be complete without some decorations.

We had another modge podge of food for dinner tonight.

I can't believe that we are under 50 days until Disneyland. With that I thought I'd talk a little bit more about our plans for our trip. We booked our trip through Get Away Today. We got our park tickets, ART passes, shuttle trip to & from the airport and hotel accommodations. We'll be staying at Castle Inn & Suites. It's not quite the same as Sleeping Beauty Castle but it will do. We'll be flying into Orange County (SNA) Airport which will be nice to have less travel time between the airport and the hotel. Next week I'll fill you in with our plans for the time we are there.

See Ya Real Soon!!

The Flower That Blooms in Adversity is the Most Rare and Beautiful of All

Welcome to our 5th movie night!! This movie night comes on a very special day in Disney history. In case you were not aware today marks the official 60th anniversary of opening at Disneyland. It also marks the halfway point in our movie night countdown to Disneyland. We are 40 days away from Disneyland!!

Our movie for tonight is Mulan. This was one of my fiance's picks mostly because we would get take-out Chinese for dinner.

Again I had to do some decorating for the mantel.

Then to our Chinese take-out dinner.

This was a fun halfway point in our Disney movie nights. Next week we'll be heading down to the bayou.

See Ya Real Soon

I just want to say I think your countdown is super creative and fun! The decorations are beautiful and perfect using your Cricut and the menus are just great. Well done. And I'm going to follow along to see the rest of the countdown. :D

You're the Best Thing I Never Knew I Needed

Welcome to week 6 of our countdown to Disneyland!!! This week we made the final payment on our trip arrangements nearly a whole month prior to when it needed to be paid off. Today marks 33 days until we're leaving for Disneyland...so excited beyond belief.

Our movie for tonight was The Princess & The Frog. I picked this one out because of New Orleans Square at Disneyland. I am beyond excited to get some Mickey shaped beignets and eat at Blue Bayou during our trip. I also just love the music in this movie...I find it to be quite catchy.

There was lots of green in my decorations this evening.

On to our New Orleans inspired meal.

Yes I know Mama Odie makes gumbo but we like jambalaya better.

We have a thing for trying French Onion Soup everywhere...it is our favorite soup. We actually got ours from Applebee's because it is by far our favorite.

We had to make some man-catching beignets...lol. Okay I kinda cheated with these...they are just canned biscuits, cut up and fried then tossed in powdered sugar. But they fit the idea we were going through and were much easier.

Next week will be a 2 day - 3 movie party. The toys will be back in town!!

See Ya Real Soon

I hadn't watched The Princess & The Frog until last year, and I really enjoyed it. Looking at all this food and now I'm hungry!

You've Got a Friend in Me

This movie night was our biggest of the 10 we're doing. It consisted of 3 movies and 2 days. Last night and this morning we are 26 & 25 days away from Disneyland. It's crazy to believe that we have less than a month until we'll be heading to Disneyland.

We knew we wanted to include Toy Story in our movie nights but we couldn't just do one so we did them all. And had food that themed for each movie. Last night we watched the first 2 movies.

Then this morning we watched the final Toy Story.

Of course my movie nights would not be complete some decorations. This was my most elaborate (meaning the most characters) crafting job. I cut out and assembled 15 characters and a movie title.

It was a lot of work but they were the most fun to make. Now onto our dinner and dessert from last night.

We borrowed my mom's s'mores making in order to have our dessert. Our dog even wanted to eat some.

Not quite as good as having them over an actual campfire but it worked. Now onto our breakfast this morning which was of course themed as well.

That's all I have for now. Only 3 more movie nights left. We got all of our reservation information this past week in the mail. We booked our vacation through GetAwayToday.com. We got our ART passes, hotel reservation info, Karmel Shuttle vouchers and of course our Disneyland Park tickets. One has Mickey and the other has Minnie which is just perfect for us. We have a few more Disney gift cards we want to buy prior to leaving.

Next week we'll have no worries as we sing Hakuna Matata.

See Ya Real Soon

Hakuna Matata...It Means No Worries

We are under 20 days until we leave. I don't know that it has really sunk in that we're actually going. I don't think it'll really hit me until we start packing. I mean we've been prepping with buying shirts, pins and gift cards to use but it'll be different when we are packing up that stuff.

Tonight's movie night was The Lion King. This was one of the first movies I bought my fiance (for our first Christmas together).

I had quite some fun making my decorations for our movie night. Mostly with the Lion King Logo because I got to work on my inking to create the sunrise look.

I think my fiance was most excited with what was for dinner tonight. He was super excited to get to grill some steaks.

Only 2 more movie nights left. Join us next week for a double feature movie night. Be ready to rev up your engines.

See Ya Real Soon

There is a Big Blue Sky Waiting Right Behind the Clouds

Can't believe we have less than 2 weeks until we're at Disneyland. It still doesn't feel real but we're working on our lists of things we need pack and do before we leave. Soon we'll be in the single digits for our countdown.

We celebrated our 9th movie night with a double feature. We mainly picked these movies as part of our movie nights because of Carsland. We're super excited to really get to enjoy it and soak it all up. We have made it a point to make sure one evening we'll be in Carsland to watch the neon lighting ceremony. Things we'll definitely be doing include Radiator Springs Racers, enjoying some milkshakes at Flo's and eating at the Cozy Cone.

Of course movie night wouldn't be complete without decorations. I only had characters from the first movie so those are the ones I used.

Now on to our feast. We both agreed we enjoyed the spread of this meal most out of any of our other movie nights. Granted that could be because we LOVE pasta so it was right up our alley.

Doesn't that look yummy?? Only 1 more to go. I really can't believe we'll be to our 10th movie night next week. Hope you enjoyed our Cars & Cars 2 movie night.

See Ya Real Soon

I really LOVE all the themed food and movie nights!! Such a clever idea!

Trust Your Heart and Let Fate Decide

Welcome back for our very last movie night before we head to Disneyland. Only 4 days left!!!!!!!!!! Seriously we cannot believe we'll be walking around Disneyland in 4 days. It just doesn't seem real. That an idea I came up with in April is coming to light in just a few short days.

Tonight we started packing our bags. Since its been so hot this summer we've been sleeping in our guest room downstairs so I took over our bed with the suitcases.

Our last movie night was Tarzan.

I made just a few decorations for this movie night and I printed them out then cut them.

Now onto our meal...it was so yummy.

Terk's Monkey Mash is banana creme pudding, angel food cake and sliced bananas.

Now that we've wrapped up our last movie night we have decided that these movie nights will definitely be something we do again. In fact, we are going to do more movie nights before we take our First Anniversary trip in Fall 2017 to Walt Disney World. I would like to do a movie even couple weeks for an entire year. But we decided that we wouldn't repeat any movies from this round of movie nights.

Well I think that is all for this PTR. I'll make sure to come back on and post a link to our Trip Report for Disneyland.

See Ya Real Soon
