I just figured that your girls are such soccer stars so maybe they got invited to a cool tournament or a special "all-stars" camp or something!

Not exactly, but you're on the right track.

Okay, I have to clarify that they are indeed soccer stars in their rec league...but up against other nine year olds...not sure.

I like this guess, but nope. I don't know if I'd give up trying BLT for anyone going with us. I do love my family but...

I am at gymnastics and my iPhone Is too tedious to type out all. However, I will reveal the mystery tonight in an update. We got the news we wanted to hear and I am much relieved. I also did talk with member services and we are staying at a different resort!

Okay, Tuesday I ran in to two parents of girls who played soccer with my girls a couple of years ago. I told the one that we tried to get the girls to try out for travel soccer but they weren't interested. (His daughter had told mine she missed Halloween last year...well, Halloween is on par with Christmas to my girls.) He told me there was another tryout on Thursday night. I then ran into his wife and told her the Halloween story. She said that her daughter missed the town parade. I told my girls that travel soccer did not interfere with Halloween, and that their dad and I wanted them to tryout. If they make the team and they don't want to play, they can say no. They agreed.

Thursday they tried out. The one was quite aggressive and was not played too much. (We read that as they selected her and the other girls needed to earn a spot.) The other was not running on the field and was pretty stationary. Dh couldn't watch anymore it was so frustrating. About half time, she kicked it into gear and showed that she too should have a spot. The girls felt lousy about their performance and didn't think they'd make it. However, they both were very interested in playing if they were invited.

Dh and I worried all weekend and waited for a call. UGH! My biggest fear was one making it and not the other! (I know they will run into these instances, but I would like it to be less than a year of smacking one in the face.) We knew their skills were similar.

Finally, tonight we got the call. They both made the U10 third team (which was really all we were hoping for.) Our club is quite reputable for the area so the third team is still a desired spot.

So, the required camp is Aug 1-4 with the first tournament Aug 5,6,7.

Dh contacted me (girls and I were at gymnsatics) to tell me that the girls made the team. He was giving details and I said, "Look, I gotta go. I have to call Member Services!"

So at 5 of 5 pm, I called. I asked the girl if they closed at 5, and she said 5:30. Oh good!

I had to cancel BLT and BWV -

So, what did I land?

Am I happy? Hum...I am content. If my waitlist for BLT (only 2 days are unavailable...) or AKV Jambo, don't come through, and I can't land a split stay, then I will be okay. (I love MARA.)

After dinner, I had to book flights. Our plan was to drive since we had plenty of time and dh had a week off when we returned. This flew out the window.

I secured Southwest for Mon. morning and Sun. night home. Once we see the tournament schedule, we might fly down on Sunday night.

Will you be in a one bedroom at AKV? I'm dying to stay at AK but my DH is much less interested. I'll keep my fingers crossed for BLT waitlist but a savanna view room will still be awesome! That's one nice thing about Disney - even your 3rd or 4th choice is still amazing.

I laughed when you said you had to go to call Member Services....you know the way this works!! We were waitlisted for a few of our days and they did come through so I'll keep my fingers crossed that what you want comes thru!!!

Thanks! We are excited.

We stay in studios to conserve points. We aren't in the room enough for it to make a difference. We really only eat breakfast in the room, and with a toaster and microwave, we're fine. I was nervous about staying at BLT and BWV that we'd miss AK. You'll have to talk your dh into giving it a try!

Thanks! I wanted to call Member Services on Monday, but I was afraid to prematurely change our trip...I was anxious! I made another change today, so even if we don't have a waitlist come through.

Thanks. I am a bit excited about the plane. It is crazy, but I like the challenge of trying to pack light. I have this unrealistic image of me throwing items into my Vera duffel and saying, "Let's go!" Yea, right!

I called Member Services again today (I have a feeling that I will be using that line frequently throughout the rest of the PTR...)

I was able to change our ressie to AKV JAMBO STANDARD! ​

First, I am excited to be at Jambo...we like to feel like we are in the mix of it. It is what we didn't enjoy about OKW.

Second, I am happy to save the points over the Savannah view. For those who haven't had the chance to read our Jan TR or those who have forgotten , we just didn't have a great SV room. As Hannah told me after I said that we switched to a standard at Jambo, it is better to save points. There are so many places to see the animals anyway.

I also called WDW DINE and cancelled all of our dining reservations. I am off to make some new dining reservations.

I agree with staying in the middle of it! I don't think it would be as bad but like you said, you LOVE Mara and Kidani doesn't have a QS which I think is a huge fail on their part. Even though you are DVC and tend to use the kitchen facilities, not everyone does!

I've seen both and I would vote Jambo over Kidani as well. I think the pool is better at Jambo IMO and you will be in the middle of it all!!!!

You're making me rethink my choice of Poly in June...I can't cancel it though..we'll splurge for one night since my parents are only married for 30 years once

Can't wait to hear the new ADRS!!!! I'm feeling the OCD for you as I would want to re-plan them asap as well!!!

Okay--no rethinking the Poly! Talk about being in the middle of it all! I am bias about the Poly because that is the first place we stayed...if I could book it without it costing me one week's points for one day, we'd book it in a heart beat!

Poly- Tonga Toast! Dole Whips! Volcano Pool! Music! Lush gardens! Fireworks from the beach! Kona Coffee Bar! Need I go on?! (Am I helping you get even more excited?)
