My DD (19) and I are taking my DN (6) for her first trip to the World in July. I'm trying to think of things that will help to get her more excited for the trip (though I'm sure she will never be as excited as I am :cool1: )

Does anyone have ideas for countdown calendars or something that you have used in the past to prepare a child, and also give them a visual for 'how many days until we go' besides just a regular calendar?

I have bought a couple of little things at Target to put by her bed when she wakes up during our stay, and thought about having Disney Florist deliver the Tiara, Autograph Book and Pen to have waiting in the room when we arrive.

Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. Is there any place that I could purchase some postcards and have them sent to my house so I can mail them to her for a couple of weeks before we go?

My family and I are going next year and about 100 days before we go I am going to make a paper chain that the girls can pull apart everyday. Its a fun craft thing to make together and a cute activity that helps them see the number of days left.

As far as postcards. You could find people that are going before you and get on a Fairy Godmailer list. :)

We use the Disney themed paint chips from Home Depot to make a countdown calendar. The HD managers are always tickled when I ask for extra paint chips.

I also find lots of Disney themed things at the Dollar Tree. They have books, dominos, sticker pads, card games and puzzles.
