Countdown Cruisers - Ringing in the New Year on the Disney Wonder - 12/31/2013

So...sad news. We are canceling this cruise. It does look like I'm going to be able to move it to Spring Break 2014 on the Wonder... out of Miami of all places...which softens the blow. We at least will sail Disney...just not when we'd been counting down to...or out of our Texas.

I have scrambled to find this alternative; Otherwise it would be even more disappointing then it already is. I won't air dirty laundry, but in a nutshell it's coming down to a visitation dispute and my ex husband isn't supporting me taking the kids away over Holiday break.

Very sad. This cruise has been booked since Dec of last year and was so very much anticipated and needed after our tough year. It meant a lot.

Please remove me from the fish extender list. Sorry.

That's too bad, and I am so sorry - I know it has to be a disappointment after all the planning and the anticipation. It will be a really fun cruise out of Miami though, and are you doing a stop at CC? That will be awesome if you are

I have been perusing the Disboards to see what people are using for FE hangers, and it's quite intimidating! Some of them are amazing and look professionally made. I was wondering what people in this group are using. At this point, I am going to have to make my own, which is a tall order for a non-crafty mom.

Don't worry about making an award winning FE! We've seen everything from those that are bought from a professional sewer on Etsy or Ebay, to a cloth Disney gift bag, just hung from a zip tie on the fish. The gift bag was the easiest to put stuff into, because everything fit in it!

We are not doing the FE this time around, but I have to admit to buying mine off Ebay. I'm not crafty, and when we did our first cruise, it was just overwhelming to me to try and make a FE to hang along with all the FE gifts to hand out, so I just caved in and bought one.

My daughters (13 and 16) are going on this cruise with their grandmother and I'm making a detachable FE. I bought all the stuff to make it, just haven't quite settled in my mind how I want it to be.

You can buy FEs on Etsy or make your own. Honestly, by the time you buy all the stuff to make one, you can probably buy one professionally made. Or, go the IKEA route: go to IKEA and get an organizer in the kids section. Rip off the embellishments that come with it and hot glue on some Disney ribbon (you can find it at your favorite craft store or at Walmart) and some applicaes or Disney images.

There is fish extender group on Facebook if you do Facebook with tons and tons of great ideas.

We have two cabins cabin 1---myself and son
Cabin 2 -- husband and his brother

I also will agree with majority vote on when to split -- if majority voted 20 cabins than I agree and let it be up to the individual if they want to do 1 Cabin gift or for everyone in the cabin to each their own no limits placed -- makes it harder and more stress. Just my opinion.
Can't wait for this cruise so ready

Looks like that we're going to have not just a pretty full sailing, but I see there are quite a few seasoned Disney cruisers on this one as well. This is our second cruise, so the 90 day window opened for me this morning.

There are a number of excursions that are sold out, but I was still able to get what our family wanted to do this time. Hope everyone gets what they are looking for as well.

Ugh. I really hope that the one that I booked doesn't fill up. We are traveling with another family, but this is their first cruise so they can't book until Oct 13. I will drop mine and we'll choose something else if it fills up.

Doing it twice would probably be easier for everyone so that each room has its own line, but either way is ok.

Woo Hoo! Checked in today and got a Port Arrival time of 11 AM. Have 10 more days before I have to pay in full. Getting excited!!

We just got off the Wonder yesterday from it's inaugural Galveston sailing and we had a really great cruise. We spoke to several of the CMs about the NYE cruise and all of them told us that we will LOVE the NYE sailing. They all said that there will be lots of champagne and a party but always winked and said they couldn't spoil the suprise...arggh!! LOL

The Wonder is a beautiful ship - we really enjoyed seeing the small differences between the two sister ships. It has really made us glad that we booked the NYE cruise as I think it will be a great sailing.
