Count Down With me for August!

I suppose I should start getting stuff together myself. Its hard when the kids are wearing the clothes you need to pack.

I think I need a lil' shopping spree to tide me over.;)

I totally agree, due to our SUPERIOR planning skills, we picked the month of August which just so happens to conincide with the best clearance sales of the year July/August:cool1:

I buy all my kids clothing for the next summer now, but we wear them at Disney for the first time:rotfl: Yes, they may complain that the clothes are a tad too big for the, but that is what adjustable waists are for...geesh I wish they did adjustable waists for us adults too:rolleyes1

A spending spree does help take the edge off does it not? They do not call it "retail therapy" for nothing. Nothing better to me than perusing Marshalls;), except maybe Disney planning:goodvibes

WE ARE GETTING SO CLOSE PEOPOLE!!!!:yay::dance3::yay::dance3::yay:

I love/hate that the summer flys by, but wheather I was going to Disney or not the summer would fly by, and it is just such a wonderful ending to our summer and the begining of the school craziness:teacher::eek::eek::eek:

I completely agree with eveything you said, especially the last sentence about summer flying by no matter what we do, so why not end it on a great note with a trip to Disney. :yay:

My lil' shopping spree wound up a big one, for me!

Heck, I don't purchase anything for myself, always for my kids. So once in a blue moon I splurge! Mama needed some new vacation clothes, badly!

I'll be watching the sales for my kids though.:rolleyes1

43 days is not far away! Its almost to new numbers, 30's which is close to the 20's, and then the teens, and bam its single digits!!!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I want to decorate my windows, so I need to start making some mickey heads, I wonder if home depot still has the color samples? I like larger ones anyways.

OH! I did find some foam sheets, I can use those!!! And glitterize them. Now I have a cool craft to do later with the girls. I love this thread, it makes me brainstorm, and go shopping.

Disney, 43 days baby!:dance3::yay::banana::rotfl::cheer2::cool1:

22 full days left! monymony's speech about the 30's... 20's... teens... made little butterflies go off in my tummy! :rotfl2: At this point, all shopping has been done (except perishables), all itineraries and luggages tags, and t-shirts have been made, and Cameran's daily outfits have been packed in separate zip-locs and marked with date and description. :lmao: I think I'm ready!!!

I just found this thread! Yahoo!
Our family has 41 days to go. :jumping1:
We are staying at Pop Century August 21st through August 28th for the free dining and some fun in the sun :cool2: :beach:.
I have requested blg # 9 on the first floor.( Hope we get it.)
The suitcases are starting to get packed and the count down has begun. WE are all excited to go to Disney again.
We are flying out of Rochester, New York on Airtran.
I now hope the "Bounceback Fairy" :worship: pixiedust: will grace us with a offer in our room , so I can begin to save and plan for 2011 as soon as we return home.
I have thought about decorating our window , :artist: but have never tried before. (you can't use tape , right?)
My 10 year old nephew and his family will be going August 17-26 and staying at All Star Sports. So we will be hopefully seeing them there too.
While we are at Pop I will have to look for those tie dye Mickey heads that the OP is using, since her family will be at Pop around the same time!
In the meantime, we will listen to alot of Disney Park Music on Live365 on MouseWorld Radio, go over my check lists to see that we have everything packed, and read lots of postings :surfweb: by fellow Disney/August/Free Dining resort travelers on this board.
May all our Disney vacations be simply Magical!
Myself 53 :tigger: daughter 20:tinker: husband 56:goofy:

Loved using the ziplock method, I have 4 kids and it saves so much time, just throw one each a bag in the morning and they are good to go!

Three weeks for us, I think 22 days? We're so close!
:cool1:

:cool1::cool1::cool1: (one for each week)

Yes you can use tape, just be nice and take it all off when you are done. If I still have the tye dye template, I'll send it to you, just let me look for it first. Family of 6, 2 screaming parents, you can't miss us!

With a little over 30 days to go I am soooooooooooo ready. The first half of the year has not been kind; heck the past couple of years have not been kind.
I was hired for a "dream job"; shut down my child care business only to be informed a few days ago the "qualifications" for the job have changed. Result: NO job. Nephew's new father-in-law (he and his wife were married at WDW 12/31/09) was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer; niece decided to divorce her husband after 20+ years of marriage; good friends mother passed away; son of another close friend (suffers from PTSD) was sent to prison; DH had cancerous polyps removed (note to fellow over 50 Disboarders...get that colonoscopy done! We lost a good friend to colon cancer a few years ago.); youngest DD lost her husband over a year ago ... was in floral dept. of our local grocery story yesterday, looked at the roses and found tears streaming-will DD ever have some of those beautiful flowers sent to her again?:sad2:
The year hasn't been all bad. The rest of the family has steady employment; DGD'd are thriving (and so excited about the upcoming trip); we're healthy (we think!); sister retired from teaching and will be joining us with her daughter for part of the trip; BUT, we are ALL so ready to be at our favorite "Happy Place". Time is short :yay: and we're ready! :dance3: Will begin packing shortly :cool1:. :tink:

Yes, you certainly need this vacation! I have had a licensed child care in my home for the last 13 years. It's hard to re-open or even bounce back from losing one child. Hope you can have fun and celebrate the good things while there.

alice: your first trip! Very exciting and excited for you! Welcome to our crazy obsessions.

Oh, I started a pre-trip report, its the last link in my signature.
