Couldn't get in seat at Dudley Doright Ripsaw Falls

Sooooo embarrassing! I am thin and tall for a woman (6'0") but not freakishly tall compared to men. And I couldn't get my legs folded down into the boat at Ripsaw Falls last weekend! I had to just get out and let my husband ride.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a secret to getting in the boat? My legs are long and my knee kept getting stuck on the seat in front of me when I tried to slide down and sit.

I have never been more humiliated in my whole life!

Aw I'm sorry that you didn't get to ride.

I personally didn't have that problem but I have read where taller people have had that problem. Don't feel alone. You aren't the only one.

Seriously...sorry you couldn't ride but you are not the only person this has happened to. Those boats are tight for larger people and tall people have trouble with their legs.

I hope you didn't let that experience spoil the rest of your visit.

I'm 6'3" and what they told me was to wiggle down into the seat with my legs sticking straight out, not bent at the knees. I was able to get in, but it wasn't very comfortable. I can't figure out why they put lapbars on a tiny water flume log. I love this ride, but rarely bother riding it anymore due to the ridiculous lapbars.

I am by no means tall, 5'4" and I still found myself trying to wiggle my legs in there, quickly, so the ride could start

Nah, it didn't ruin my day-- still had a good time overall.

But the Universal people running the ride were not helpful, nice or sympathetic! They didn't acknowledge me when I was struggling to get in and then when I climbed back out, they wouldn't tell me where to go or what to do.

Oh well. Curse the long legs! Glad to hear I'm not the only one who has had problems.

Didn't they change the boats a few years ago or was that Splash Mountain?

They changed the boats a few years ago and added the lap bars, but I believe it was because people were getting out of the boats, not because you would come out of your seat at the drops (because many log flumes don't have lap bars).

Someone jumped out on the last incline, they didn't always have the lapbars.

Yeah it was the attraction with the most amount of downtimes. People would jump off the logs because they were too scared of the ride, or wanted to run along side the log to be cool in front of their friends. Unfortunately, if anyone is out of the ride like that, an Estop must be hit, which drains the entire ride which leaves the ride closed for at least an hour to get everyone off the ride and to refill the ride back up again.

When we were at HHN a few years ago people were jumping out inside the ride. The CM's were yelling at them over the speakers and looking for them with flashlights.

I'm tall 6'4" and the first time I went on the park employee told me to keep my legs straight and slide down holding on to the sides. It's worked everytime.

I tried that but my knees/thighs still kept getting stuck on the lapbar/seat in front of me and my feet were running into my husband's (in the seat in front of me).

I was in the last seat in the boat-- wonder if that one is smaller than the rest?

He's right the first seat does have more room, slightly. I was able to get in and out better in the first seat. But it still wasn't the most comfortable thing in the world.

I can assure you, 5000%, that the front of the log has the LEAST legroom of all. The back has the most, but because it is a flat back, it's tougher to slide into. If you're tall, seats 2/3/4 are the ones for you.

I've only ridden Dudley Doright when I was there last May. I had just as a hard a time getting out of it, as I did getting in (maybe harder).. What's the secret for getting in and out of that log?
