Couldn't be happier with BWV this trip!

Just want to echo others' sentiments, it's nice to hear good things about our home resort!! Our most recent stay was December; the only thing I don't like about the renovation is the removal of carpet, because we always request ground floor and I anticipate some noise from above....

Hi All -
We just bought into BWV and this thread is obviously very exciting for us! As we are waiting on our membership number, we booked a free dining trip at AKL as a regular Disney vacation for this August. Hopefully when we get our member number early in this coming week, we will still have a chance to use our upcoming Disney Vacation points at BWV studio for 4/28. It is killing me not to have that member number! They mailed it Friday but I will likely try to call tomorrow just in case we are in the system and I can get us booked for 4/28/2017. Happy to be with you all!

Can't wait for our first stay at BWV in just 180 days! This will be the last resort I try out before buying more points, I own at Vero and used my points to evaluate all my options, now one last trip and then MORE VACATIONS AT DISNEY!!

We just returned from a split stay at Poly and AKV. We had a great time, but I would kinda like to try out the BWV again, since we haven't stayed there since 2008!

Am I correct that the studios actually sleep more than the 1BR? I would love to book a 1BR, but DD-19 and DS-13 need their own beds, so a Murphy bed or sleeper chair are an absolute must!

You are correct. Studios at BWV now sleep 5 and 1 bedrooms only sleep 4 because the layout of the 1 bedrooms does not allow space for a sleeper chair or murphy bed. Some families use a single blow up mattress in 1 bedrooms but I think that would not work for teens.

I hope you have your number now, and have booked your BWV stay!

Welcome Home!

Just had our first stay last week in a boardwalk view studio. We loved the resort!

Got our text that our 1BR pool view is ready at 9am. We haven't even left Texas! It also says that we can go directly to our room with our MB. After looking at the layout, I realize that our room is overlooking the quiet pool so it's actually close to the parking lot. We're arriving after midnight. Can we use the pool entrance and just go up the stairs instead of going to the front desk? It's a hike to the front desk but pretty close to the DHS walkway. Any ideas?

We've been on the fence about BCV and BWV for our January trip. I think this post just pushed us to BWV. So glad you had a great time, we're booked in a 1bd standard view, hope we have a great view as well! :thumbsup2

The parking lot that your room is close to is the valet parking across the canal and you won't be parking right there. But there is parking further along that side nearer to the guard shack. Or across the driveway is the parking lot we usually use.

Assuming the magic bands work, you can take the sidewalk from near the bridge to the doorway at the corner of BWV. That takes you into a hallway and the stairs are on the other side of that hallway. You can just go upstairs from there no problem. Enjoy your trip!

Thank you. Got in using that door, easy peasy. Everything was well till this morning. My husband was commenting how loud our neighbors were. I thought the same thing. In all our DVC stays, we've never heard our neighbors. I went downstairs to visit the Boardwalk Bakery. First sign of trouble was the no exit through the pool door. That's when I realized all that loud noise is coming from the workers in scaffolding banging on our walls! They're painting the outside. I guess as long as they keep their hours, I can live with it. Happy first day of summer.

I love Boardwalk!

Exactly my feelings, Jean, which is why I rarely post here any more. I have lots of good info and years of experience, but got tired of the DVC hating. I am happy that you and your DH continue to enjoy your DVC even though you have so many challenges healthwise......and your tips really helped me when I took my momilaw in September and SO glad I did, as her health has gone downhill and the trip would not be possible any more.

I agree. There is so much complaining that it gets ridiculous at times. That is why I ended up taking a break and not really posting on the boards for a while. Count me in the camp of people that still love Disney. I don't agree with every decision that they make, but I still think it is the best vacation spot in the world.

So glad to hear that. We are booked in a 1BR in August and I've heard varying things about the condition of DVC resorts (though I know BWV has just had a huge refurb so it should be clean and pretty still) and how service seems to be slipping.

I think that the negative people tend to be the ones that post the most. People that have good experiences and love Disney/DVC seem to me to be the ones that don't post as often, so I think that there is often a skewed perception of things when reading the forums.

Great to read about your stay. I'm from the uk and own dvc points at BWV. This week we've just booked our trip for next May and am really looking forward to it.
