Could we....should we do a water park?

It's me, DH, DD13, DS4, & DD2 9/22-9/30

We're going for 8 nights staying at POP for 3 nights & then OKW for 5. Getting 7 day passes (not sure if hoppers or not).

Eating at: CRT, Ohanas, Boma, Crystal Palace, Hoopdedoo, Chef Mickeys & Le Cellier... that's about it. Might add Whispering Canyon OR Planet Hollywood.

Question is: I would LOVE to go to Typhoon Lagoon, but not sure if it will fit. I know we could MAKE it fit, but I also wanted a day of relaxation in there too. Is this something we can/should decide once we get there or should I have a pretty good idea of if we are and which day before we leave?

Thanks.

It's good to have a day planned to do Typhoon Lagoon, and see when you are there if you really want to do it.
If you reach the point that you really need some relaxation at the hotel, then you can scrap the TL plans.
TL is definitely worth a half day visit, at least. The wave pool is awesome, and the Crush N Gusher slides are fun.

Two things that might help decide based on your schedule...

1) Don't go on a weekend. At that time of year, the locals are in school, and the water parks tend to be more crowded on a weekday.

2) The water parks tend to be less crowded from Mid afternoon on. Most people show up for opening and then leave after a few hours. Try going around 2 when the park closes at 6. That should be enough time to check out the place, and you should have less people to deal with.

Hope this helps, and maybe we'll run into you right around then.. I'll be the one in the wave pool relaxing!

Well, once you get to Old Key West, you'll have an awesome pool right at your fingertips. The Pop pools are ok, but TL is much more fun than a Pop pool for your kids. If you do have the hopper option, you could always go either first thing in the AM til afternoon, or arrive after 2 and stay til closing. It is much less crowded then. We have PAP and go to the water parks often. During the school year we often go after school. We arrive by 4 and it is never crowded then. DS11) can get on so many slides going that late. Just FYI, crush and gusher has a nice wading pool area for the little ones to splash while waiting for the older one to go on the slide.
