Could we do a park on arrival night?

If 5 days or less I would not want to burn one for a partial day. If more than 5 days i consider it a valid option.

On the first day of our last trip we went to HS at about 8pm with the sole purpose of watching the Star Wars firework show. We also rode TSM (which I had made a FP for) and doing a few other things. In my opinion it was totally worth it.

We are staying at All-Star Movies. We are cast members so tickets don't affect us that is why it's an option we are considering. No kids. Just two adults. I wasn't considering going to a park on arrival night as we almost never do, but thought it might be an option.

We will there the 4-11th of September with a park every day, besides arrival day scheduled as of now.

You could hit Epcot. It has evening Extra Magic Hours until 11pm on the 4th.

I probably wouldn't get an ADR because of possible delays, but you could check the app on the day of to see what's available.

As you noted, you will be arriving late. Since you don't need tickets, it could be worth trying. However, adding in the bus ride to the park takes away more time Only you can really decide if its worth going to a park for 2 hours.
Another option is to go to DS. Lots of things going on there late into the evening and always fun.

We flew in from SFO last month and arrived around 4pm- with ME didn't make it to the resort (OKW) until 5:30 (we waited at MCO for the bus for probably 30 min and were the last resort stop), and then had magic band issues getting into our room which got us to 6pm before we could go anywhere so I agree w/ other posters that assume 8pm or later to arrive at a park. I'd only do a park if it's open until 11pm or midnight - I'd guess a closing time is probably 9pm for the day after Labor Day but maybe now that's considered a busier day. BTW next time I'm going to save me an hour and pay for uber or lyft instead of ME. Just not worth all the waiting. (we did MDE on our prior trip 4 years ago and it was the same experience).

We ended up going to DS and had dinner there which was nice and that's what I'd recommend if you're staying near DS. If you get a Landry's Select card (membership fee is credited toward your first meal) you get priority seating at T-Rex and Rainforest Cafe plus Yak & Yeti & Rainforset at AK if you are planning to go there sometime (and Bubba gumps at universal citywalk). We were seated within 5 min of arriving at T-Rex, then wandered around DS afterwards browsing shops. A nice start after a long travel day.
