Seems pretty clear. And not surprising.

From a Travel Insurance website.
"..., coverage for COVID19 will depend on when you bought your travel insurance. Most of these companies made the coverage for COVID19 an exclusion once it was declared an global pandemic by the Center for Disease control (CDC) in the United States."
I spoke to my insurance carrier specifically about this last week, for a policy I just purchased. They said illness caused by Covid is covered. What is not covered is not traveling due to concern about Covid.

In addition to the 100% medical coverage, cancel for any reason covers 75%, for any reason at all.

exactly, so as long as I don't travel when there is a Government Travel Advisory, my travel insurance is valid. Every company is different but from what I have seen on a European Disney Forum, from people renewing travel insurance in since May, this is pretty much standard.

This seems to be the industry standard now. People need to check with their specific insurer, as a blanket statement that pandemics are not covered is not correct and fear mongering. People need factual up to date information direct from insurance companies, not internet people making assumptions.

I should have stated US companies. I have no idea about other countries travel insurance. Sometimes I forget this is an international board.

This one scenario is interesting and not something likely to be easily covered in the U.S. due to HIPAA laws as it would require an unrelated 3rd party to disclose medical information. Businesses here aren't even allowed to disclose to employees which, if any, colleagues have tested positive.
