Could someone staying at CBR walk over to Riviera and take the bus there?

A friend of mine has a stay at CBR coming up and wants to know, if they're placed in a building near Riviera, could they just walk over and catch the bus there? I'm not even sure if it's a practical choice, but they'd like to know lol.

I don't see why not! While we stayed at Art of Animation in November, we rode the Skyliner to Epcot and walked to the Yacht Club to see their gingerbread carousel, and then took their bus to Disney Springs.

I don't frequently hear great things about the CBR bus service. Do you all think a good amount of people are using the Riviera bus?

I'm not sure if it's fully implemented yet, but Disney has begun to reduce bus service at the skyliner hotels to once per hour if you're traveling to HS or Epcot. So that's something to consider.

Oh yeah definitely. We plan to use the Skyliner for those parks when we are at CBR our next trip. I've just always found deluxe resort bus service to be better than other resort types. We've found them better and typically find smaller lines to board buses back from the parks. WIth how close the Riviera is to CBR I'd be curious if it could be worth it to take the Riviera bus.

Yes, but it will not save them any time and probably take longer.
Like the comment below yours, their thought is bus service at CBR has notoriously negative reviews and it might be worth the hassle just to go over to Riviera instead and avoid any problems.

All things considered, Google Maps says it's 30 minutes from OPR, going clockwise around the lake. If you were staying in Aruba it wold probably be 15 minutes or so.

And Riviera has only one bus stop vs. 7(ish?) at CBR. If I was in a building near Riviera I might consider it.

there is one bus stop that's a veerrrryyy looong walk from the front of the resort! Had dinner at Topolinos last week and we couldn't believe how far they expect people to walk to be able to see that they've just missed the bus :rolleyes1 I can't imagine you'd save much time by walking from any of the CBR buildings thru Riveria and down to the bus.

I don't think anyone is. There's no advantage to doing that and will actually take longer.

Since I haven't been to either resort yet maybe I'm misjudging how close Riviera is to CBR? My experience with the bus service has always been that deluxe resorts have better service but more importantly shorter lines at night leaving the park. With how big CBR is and with how at least seemingly close the Riviera is I could see myself hoping on a Riviera bus at night if the CBR bus line is long like I frequently have seen it is.

Aruba would be the only cluster of buildings where it might make some sense but I don't know where the Riviera bus stop is located in relation to the Riviera building. If it's on the opposite side of the building then it wouldn't be worth it.

The Skyliner is a different story; Aruba is pretty close to the Riviera Skyliner station.

CBR is pretty huge. There are bus stops in each island. I stayed in Jamaica last year they had buses hitting Jamaica and the nearby islands then going to the parks. Coming back however you had to go to five islands before Jamaica. With the skyliner now active it probably affects the bus stop patterns. They want you to take skyliner.

Ok .. it's hard to put this together so it makes sense but here's a map of the Riviera resort -- note where the bus stop is

And the top end of CBR with the bus stop from Riviera not even fitting on!

Aruba looks like you could walk to the Rivera skyliner station. Wow that Riviera bus stop is a hike.
YES it is -- we made that trek last Wednesday night around 9:30 and the temp was sitting at 50 with significant wind. We had arrived on the Skyliner via Studios BUT they were closed when we left and the EPCOT line was down so the plan was to head to the Springs to transfer to a bus back to POFQ. We got about 1/4 down the driveway (rather dark as well!) to see that bus pull away. Luckily EPCOT had EMH so we hopped on that one when it came in about 9:45.

Party of 8 staying in Trinidad. How crowded will the busses be when they reach our stop? Are we the last stop? I have heard the bus situation at CBR in not the best. Any advice, we like to rope drop and attend EMH

Yep. Folks take the busses at Disney Springs all the time and goto resorts and not be staying at them.
