...the dining plan to me? DBF and I are going in November, and we are trying to save as much money as possible. We only eat breakfast and dinner; on occassion, we'll grab a small snack such as a funnel cake or candy or something in between meals. We plan on eating breakfast at Hollywood & Vine (assuming that the new breakfast buffet w/ the characters will be running by then), Whispering Canyon, 1900 Park Fare, 'OHana, Breakfastasaurus, and Cape May Cafe. For dinner, we plan on eating at Rose & Crown, Chef Mickey's, Planet Hollywood, Sci Fi, Cinderella's Royal Table, and Gulliver's Grill. (We're flexible, though, if these aren't offered.) DBF and I always order appetizers and dessert, as well. Would you say, based on where we would like to eat, that it would be worth it to book the dining plan as well? I'm not sure I fully understand the concept, so an explanation would be superb. Do you find that you save more money with the dining plan?

Thanks!!! :wizard: princess:

The dining plan gives each person 1 table service, 1 counter service, and 1 snack for each day that the plan is purchased. All of the restaurants you've listed are considered table service, so no it probably wouldn't be a good savings for you. The counter service and and snacks would likely be wasted and you would still be paying for some of your meals out of pocket since you have two table service meals per day and the plan only gives you one.

hope that helps some. :)

Ah, thank you! For some reason, I was under the impression that you could exchange two counter services for one table service. I think I got that confused with trading two table services for one signature dining experience.

The best way to figure out if the DDP is a good thing for you is to sit down with pen and paper. Figure out where you would most likely eat. AllEarsNet.com has a great site with menus. I usually make a schedule, day by day, meal by meal. Figure how much you would spend normally, not using the DDP. Then figure what the DDP will cost you for your stay. See what the differences are. I'm trying to decide whether I'm better off using my DDE card, that gives me 20% a lot of my meals or getting the DDP for my trip in Oct. It's about a $40 difference right now...almost a wash.

Yeppers, you're right on. You can exchange two table credits for a signature dinner, but those are the only exchanges that are allowed.

What if we don't go to the parks one day? Do all my credits carry over so I can use them other times?

You can use all your credits in one day if you want. They are all on your key to the world card and can be used in any way you want. Great flexibility and savings!
