I don't blame you. I think I'm allergic to scallops. Twice now that I've had scallops (actually even just one) I got very sick within minutes. No hives or swelling, but I was throwing up for about 20 minutes. So I'm very cautious when I eat things with a seafood blend. I won't touch another scallop again. I'm fine with other types of seafood/shellfish though.
The last time it happened I was vomiting blood by the time I got to the emergency room. If I don't receive emergency medical treatment I will die from it. It is not an intolerance but a true allergy.

But I'm lucky that none of them are life threatening, so I can eat most things in moderation at this point.
