Hi, this isn't to do with the boards but, a friend of mine is having problems with a colleague at work. She fiddled about with his email before to add a signature with name and phone number to his emails. But, when he sent me an email it had his email address on the bottom then next to it it had the following: I will use my email address as an example:
<mailtonoblecinds@btinternet.co.uk>

He is wondering if this means she is getting his emails forwarded to her email address and if
so how does he remove it. Thanks.

Huh?

What does who to what now?

What mail client (program)?

You sort of lost me.

JC, if you'll open her post, you'll see a bit more of what she's talking about.

Ok, now I see it.

So you are saying that when HE sends mail it is showing HIS mail address AND something resembling the code that you posted but still with HIS address in the code?

JC

At the bottom of the emails he sends - I think she must of put it in a signature file. It has the following:

Email: "His email address here" then a space then the thing I showed you in the html code with her email address in it.

Do u know what she has done that for. Is it so that a copy of his emails will go to her? Thanks.

I don't know why it's there to tell you the truth.

I'm assuming he wants that out of there though right?

Hi Mary Jo - yes he is using Outlook. I am on AOL so in a bit of a bind helping him.

JC - Yes - he wants it out of there - he is worried that he is being spied on!

Thanks you guys.

Cinderella,

From what it sounds like, she accidentally typed her e-mail address in his signature file when she was setting it up. She probably meant to put his in there instead, so that when a person views his e-mail, they can just click on that link to send him an e-mail back.

He can check/change what's in the auto-signature by doing the following in Outlook:

- In the menu at the top, click on 'Tools'
- Choose 'Options...'
- A pop-up window will come up
- Click on the 'Mail Format' tab at the top of the pop-up window
- At the bottom, click on the 'Signature Picker...' button
- Click on the signature file he is using
- Click on the 'Edit...' button
- Make any edits he needs
- Click on the 'OK' buttons until all of the pop-up windows are gone
- Start a new message
- His new signature should show up

Hope this helps :)

- Jim

P.S. Having her e-mail address would mean that if a person clicked on that link to send him an e-mail and didn't check the address, the e-mail would go to her instead.
