Could I still pick up shifts?

So I'm currently doing a college program and my role is merchandise. I applied to extend and while I put same role, same location for my first choice, my second, third and fourth choices were all different roles (my last one was same role, different location). So if for whatever reason, I get something like character attendant, since I've been trained in merchandise, could I still pick up shifts in merch? Or do I soley have to just get character attendant shifts?

As long as you are still proficient, you could pick up shifts off the HUB (from the Extra Hours Hotline)

Fall DD was trained in three jobs, had two uniforms. Would have had three but the one job was within DQ where they all wore the same thing. She could have picked up shifts anywhere on property with her one job, just had to pick up another uniform. Spring she is in a park working at one attraction so one uniform. She has picked up shifts at her old job and has to wear their uniform.
