Could I get some more prayers and hugs?

I don't want to get into the specific who's and why's this time around, but I really could use some prayers and hugs.

And my mom could really use some prayers as well. She feels very close to a collapse (if we're lucky, heart attack or stroke are also possible :( ) and there's just no quick way out of the mess my dad left her in. :(

Of course, Tammi. What a nightmare you two have lived through. There is NEVER a quick fix for that much pain.

Healing, physically or emotionally, takes time.

God bless you all,

Robinrs

Tammi, I don't know what to say except to hang in there. Is your mom getting medical help?

{{{hugs}}} to you and hoping that everything will work out for all of you.:sunny:

Like what, Rita?

One Dr *finally* got her to take an antidepressant, which I had to beg her to actually *take* and not shelve. It helps that I'm on the same one so was able to tell her the side effects to expect and all that.

She won't talk to a counselor. She finally went in to one, but wasn't happy with how the session went really and won't agree to go back.

What else can they do for her? :(

Oh boy, it sounds like she doesn't want help. Is she still taking the meds?

More {{{hugs}}} to you. :(

How long has she been on the antidepressant? It can take as much as 6 to 8 weeks to have any real effect on her.. Perhaps you could speak to her doctor about something that works immediately until the other kicks in..

You have both been through so much lately.. Prayers and hugs to both of you..

 Tammi... I will keep you all in my prayers. I wish I had some advice for you... hang in there and I am sure things will look up soon.

That's right. :( Which is **** frustrating and depressing for me. :(

Yes, she's still taking them. For now anyway.

If you have any other suggestions, I'm open.

C.Ann (what happened to your other name? LOL!) -- she's only been on them about 2 weeks. I did tell her to be aware it can take a while and not give up. She *is* already showing some SLIGHT improvement. She was on Xanax for a while, but that was getting way to addictive and not helping as much.

I know you are an only child, so this is all on you. It can't be easy.

Does your mom have any brothers and sisters that are willing to help? Does she go out at all? It would be good for her. What about a support group for your mom? Would she want to try that?

Hopefully, you'll see more improvement with the meds and she will start to feel better soon.

Stay strong.::yes::

 for you, Tammi and I'll be sending prayers up for your mom and for you. Hoping for the best.

2 brothers who live long distance and one aunt who also lives long distance, all of whom are helping where they can.

No, she doesn't go out much. A little, but not much. One neighbor and a couple of friends of hers have succeeded in getting her out maybe 6 times in the past 5 months. I've also gotten her out about 4. It only helps for one day.

No, she won't do any support groups. :(

Hugs to you both, and Tammi, please take care of YOU as well... you can't help her if you are not taking care of yourself. God bless. We love you here on the DIS.
