The more I think about this question, the more I go back and forth about the likely answer so, I thought I'd ask the experts.

In Downtown Disney, do they have costumes for sale (especially the deluxe models) all year round? Our local Disney Store only has them during Halloween and Christmas. They have a very limited few right now on clearance but not even in the sizes I need.

Also, if the answer is "yes," where's the best place to look? I'd love to find something my son can wear too...like a Pirates hat! pirate:

Thanks!

I know your question was is there anywhere to buy the dresses at DTD, but you can also get them in at least two of the parks. the store right outside of 'Voyage of the Little Mermaid' at Hollywood Studios (it'll always be MGM to me ;) ) has a nice selection of the fancier princess dresses plus lots of accessories. Also, Tink's Treasures in Fantasyland in MK has a great selection. Just thought I'd share in case one of those is more convenient. :goodvibes

we were there last june and they had princess dresses everywhere, the biggest selection being at DTD in World of Disney BBB section, and since there is now a BBB at MK I would assume they would have the same ones. Also I saw at World of Disney they had a whole pirates section for boys, I don't have a boy ;) so I didn't pay that much attention LOL but I did get a pirate mickey ears hat for my little brother back at home.

I have to say.. dd has been some sort of disney character for halloween 5 out of the last 7 years ... and 4 of them princesses or minnie mouse (the past year she was a cheerleader kim possible).... and I compared them to the dresses available at WDW and to be honest I like the TDS costumes/dresses a lot better.

I think that they are made better and look a lot "nicer"... as in not as cheap.

We took THREE dresses w/ us to WDW last month (snow white, cinderella and minniem mouse) so dd could wear them to various character meals...so I could compare them side by side. Even though we didn't have the TDS "deluxe" costumes...I thought ours were nicer than the WDW ones.

I would try and grab TDS dresses over purchasing them at WDW... oh... and they are cheaper at TDS too!

ITA with this comment. Alot of the costumes at WDW seem cheap and I just can't bring myself to buy one there! Even my dd's Snow White costume that we paid $20 for was nicer than the ones they sell for almost $100.

If you can't find the costumes you want at your local TDS, many costumes are available at disneyshopping.com. And if you watch for a sale, lots of times they will be 20-50% off.

THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to offer input. It has been quite helpful. :)
